Odugen hotel: Good hotel in Kyzyl
They are two hotels in Kyzyl. This one is the best and not expensive at all. The other one, in Lenin Square is somewhat dangerous (recently they robbed some American tourists from Mammouth Lakes, California).
It is close to the Yenisey river and the Central Asia monument. Walking to the Tibetan monastery will take you 10 minutes via the stadium.

Hotel "Odugen": a Kyzyl standby
Located in the center of Kyzyl, on the Yenisey River Embankment. Walking distance to the Boat Quay and the Center of Asia Monument. 6 miles to the airport. 3 floors. 22 rooms. private bathroom, color TV, telephone, refrigerator. Bar. Laundry. Baggage storage. On-site parking.
Unique Quality: Our room for 190 rubles a night had several beds with hot and cold running swarms of cockroaches. There is a sauna and a swimming pool in the adjacent washing room. At hotel Ödygen there is a very helpful travel bureau called "Centre of Asia" (Tsentr Azii) with English speaking employees who help with the trips around the country.
