Do you like the exotic? This place is for you. Hotel is on the territory of a convent. Really there are 16 small wooden houses, each with 4 rooms.
Price is high but not too big - 1830 roubles ($60) per double room with breakfest.

The hotel is just inside the Convent of the Intercession. The rooms are in small wooden houses, decorated in traditional Russian style (a bit too touristic as everything in Suzdal'). Lovely views from the windows and in the courtyard.
Very friendly staff.
Reservation is highly recommended.
Very nice place for outdoor activities (we played snowballs and made a snow man just outside the walls of the monastery). A large touristic center with lots of sports facilities (ski, skates, bowling, swimming pool, etc) is in 15 minutes walk.
Rather far from the center, so if you plan to look around all the town in one-two days - this hotel is not the best choice.

Though pricey at 1500 rubles, I stayed at the Luzhniki Guesthouse. The room was airy and bright, with a tree outside the window. The building's interior is mainly wood and looks very nice. However, they have this thing where most of the doors are built for hobbits. I took the room with the normal-sized door and still brained myself twice during my stay.
Rather short doors lend an atmosphere of ouch to the place.

Nice hotel, centrally located (oposite the trading arcades). Rooms are simlply decorated but nice, bathroom is modern. Restaurant is also cool.

You pay 500rb about 14 euros for a great experience. great breakfast and certainly the place to relax in this amazing town of Suzdal.
This is a very special place to stay in Suzdal. I ve stayed in another hotel also, but its unpersonal touch and the big number of Russian tourist coming from Russia got me away. As this is a homestay, you have the opportunity to live with a Russian family, having your own room, hot shower, you can cook etc…
What I found beter about this place it the fact that is right in front of the Monastery of Pokrovesky. The church inside of St. Sophia is indeed the place to go and hear the afternoon women monks prayer. Just amazing. this is an active convent that has lof cabins on site done up in folk style. These are rented out via a hotel agency, so the nuns themselves do not handle things. The plumbing is all modern, and the restaurant more than adequate. There is an all night porter in case you are out drinking mead until midnight. It costs more than other hotels in the area, but if you can swing it, this is the place to be. One could spend days in Suzdal just visiting and hiking around, so this is the place to do it.
This is a spectacular site, with massive fortified tower and walls and two large architecturally significan churches. The grounds have flowers and each cabin has carved detail.
