best ladies shoe shop in bratislava

by patgoz

Hi,
I will be travelling for the fist time in Bratislava to visit the best shoe shops as i will be on a business trip.
I'd like to know the best shops in town, could someone send me a list?

Also, I'm a woman traveling alone, is it safe to walk in the city even in the evening?
Should I be careful of something specifically?

Thanks,

Patricia

a difficult question.
There are a lot of shopping centres in BA ...which could be the best??? I bought a nice, comfortable pair of shoes in EUROVEA center in ECCO shopp lately. IMO EUROVEA is worth to see in any case.
Bratislava is a quite safe city, it dependes where you are going to walk of course. I do not suppose you want to see a slum or dark little streets or parks with homless in the midnight :-).
But touristic areas are as safe as possible.
Have a nice stay in Slovakia :-) Feel free to ask me anythink about my country.

I have found this one http://www.speroni.sk/ - it is Italian so I do not know, if it is interesting enough for you.
To spend 100 Euro for a pair of shoes is quite simple in the shops in the shopping centers too :-)
I am not sure if there are a lot of places where you can buy a realy luxury shoes (more than 300 Euro)in BA, wealthy Slovak women often do shopping to Vienna.

They are in the centre, near Presidential palace and The Hotel Crowne Plaza.

Try this page http://www.relaxovat.sk/bratislava/Kategoria_64_Odev_M3da_Obuv it is only in Slovak, but there is a list of shoe - OBUV - shops. Another expression for shoes is TOPANKY

EUROVEA and AUPARK are in walking distance from the centre, POLUS is about 2 km, AVION 5km. Remember, Bratislava is a realy small "city"

Travel Tips for Bratislava

Things to bring

by mjhritz

Make sure you bring the following that you want to use if you are not staying at a top rated hotel:

Wash clothes - they are hard to find in stores.
Hard to find toiletries - If they are hard to find at home, they are just as hard (if not harder) to find in Bratislava.
Laundry facilities - there are no laundromats in Bratislava.

The name of Bratislava appears...

by Fruiyersa

The name of Bratislava appears for the first time in 907. In the Salzburg Chronicles, when it reports the battle of the Hungarian with the Bavarians bellow the Castle of Brezalauspurc. Before that, the city was known as Presoporok (Slovak), Pressburg (German), Posonium (Latin) and Pozsony (Hungarian). In the following centuries the city was integrated in the Hungarian sate

Main square

by codrutz

The main square is of course the central point of the city and where everybody starts the tour. On January 2nd the square was empty - though not really, there were small groups or just pairs. I even heard some Romanians there. Remember also the temperature was like minus 10 degrees (Celsius).

The pavement and the buildings around the square seemed recently renovated. Probably just one or two years ago (Slovakians on VT please correct me if I'm wrong).

Somewhat all the combination makes this a nice main square, not so big as others - like the one in Prague by example - but it has it's own charm. Standing in the middle of the square it sticks to your memory as Bratislava and nowhere else.

Take a walk in Michalska Street

by Skipka

If in center you can't miss the walk in MIchalska street where you can have a dinner or browse through other shops and ... you will walk through the street where was filmed Peacemaker :) The largest building here is the University Library where are saved some unique documents registered in UNESCO. Just check it out ;)

The Square of SNP

by Skipka

Thi a little bit small square for people living in other metropols has its own history and joys. In 1989 this was the place where people demonstrated against the socialistic system and it is also the place where people celebrated New Year's Eve in 1993 when Slovakia firstly appeared as independent state. It is also the place where Bratislava screams and jumps from joy when our hockey team win a medal. ;) Unique place ;)
