Try fill in the a form here http://www.funtaxi.sk/index.php where you can order a taxi. The page is only in Slovak, but I guess, they must be able to communicate in English. Meno is Name, e-mail is e-mail :-)
Detail objednávky is Detail of the order - from The Hlavna stanica to Kyjev. The price would not be more than 6.5 EUR.

Have a nice stay in our country.

Travel Tips for Bratislava

Getting lost in Bratislava

by littlesam1

The guys in hats found it very easy to get lost in Bratislava. The streets are not marked very well and we found it difficult at times to figure out where we were. We were looking for the old town section and spent at least an hour walking all around it and near it without actually finding it. Finally we asked a very nice man for directions. I started to ask in very slow English "Can.. you.. help .. us with some directions..." The man smiled politely and said "I speak English. How can I help you." So we thanked him and were on our way to the old town. In our search we came across some very interesting buildings and street art. This mirrored scuplture was fascinating. Click on the picture and enlarge it and you can see me in the mirror taking the picture.

Strolling

by acemj

The cobblestone streets of the Old Town (Starý Mesto) are perfect for a day of strolling and soaking it all in. The Danube flows by on one side and the castle presides over town on a hill reminding you that if you have an extra few days you might want to head a couple hundred miles east to the heart of the Tatras Mountains.

As for me, I only had two day in Slovakia, so I decided to spend my time enjoying the allure of Bratislava. One of the great things that I noticed here is that the charm does not seem to be manufactured for tourists or for Western appetites. Slovak cultural tendencies still rule and make a visit to Bratislava feel refreshingly authentic.

Music and Bratislava

by micas_pt

Although it is not boasted, Bratislava has seen and heard many famous composers and musicians, such as:
> Hummel, born here (1778-1837), studied with Mozart and was the successor of Haydn and predecesor of Liszt as Kapellmeister in Esterházy household.
> Beethoven gave several concerts for noblemen in 1796 and had friends in local noble families.
> Béla Bartók studied and lived part of his life in Bratislava.
> Mozart gave a concert in Palffy Palace for noblemen at the age of 6.
> Liszt played his first public concert for noblemen at the age of 9 in Bratislava, becoming a frequent guest to this city afterwards.

Roland or Maximilian?

by Skipka

The Maximillian Fountain, known also as Rolland's Fountain on the Main Square (Hlavne namestie), was built in 1572, when first Hungarian king Maximillian was crowned in Bratislava. There are more similar fountains in Germany and Switzerland and in the past it was also colored :) what sounds really strange to me but it is true. We all call it Roland's fountain and there are some myths about it such as that the statue of Roland can turn to your side if you have never lied (haha) ...
