Kyjev: Not a rip off hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • In the middle of the centre, all facilities around the hotel. It looks like time is turned 30 years back in time when you enter this hotel...But it is charming. We asked for a room with a view, and it was beautiful!
The walls are thin, don`t expect to sleep all night through...

Heh, very funny hotel and by my opinion it is fun to stay here for foreigners, especially if you are meditative or esoteric oriented >:)
It is relatively cheap and near the center. Good access from the Main railway station. And the appearance fo the hotel will catch your eyes and u needn't to ask natives where it is >:)

Esoteric pyramids, funny restaurant, gallery etc.. should attend some meditations and seasonal actions...

In restaurant there is a racio menu full of dishes for vegetarians or good health.

    ?: Sleeping with strangers . . .
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • I can't remember what this guy called his place, but it's basically just his apartment off of Hviezdoslavovo Square. If you're facing the Hotel Carlton from the square, it's to the right behind the U.S. Embassy. I actually arranged it at the information booth at the train station. The owner just met me in front of the Slovak National Theater and took me to the place. We had to walk up four flights of stairs and there were signs from the other residents on the way up warning against staying at this guy's place!! I asked him about it and he said it was just grumpy neighbors who complained when the occasional visitor made too much noise.

The apartment was a tiny little place and the bathroom was very cramped. The sleeping arrangements were odd. It was up in a loft that was a little awkward to climb up to and then, as you can see from this picture, the mattresses were practically on top of each other. I banged the heck out of my head in the morning trying to make it up to the loft on very little sleep and it made it interesting when I came back to the room really late at night and had to climb over the strangers sleeping next to me!

Fortunately, it only cost 630 crowns, or about 15 Euros.

Radisson Sas Carlton: Top choice for the big spenders
  • Tip Rating:
  • Yeah, right. Like I'd stay here. I looked at the place more as a tourist attraction than a realistic accommodation choice. The Hotel Carlton Bratislava was built in 1837 as the Inn at the Three Green Trees and is located in the heart of town in Hviezdoslavovo Square.

If you want A/C, television, hair dryers, coffee makers and 24 hour room service, then this is the place for you.

    Rates are as follows:

All weekends, 117 Euros (Single) 127 (Double)
    January - March, 185 EUR, 195 EUR
    April - June, 190 EUR, 200 EUR
    July - August, 155 EUR, 160 EUR
    September - December, 190 EUR, 200 EUR

    Hotel Bratislava: Excellent city hotel
  • Tip Rating:

  • This 3* hotel offers more than just satisfying accommodation I would personally categorize as a 4* one. Internet is available at all times, excellent breakfast, large rooms, cleanliness at a very high level, peaceful surrounding, own parking space and very kind and polite service.

Hotel Kyjev: In the heart of center
  • Tip Rating:
  • Well, I don't like this building much but my friends toldme it is quite satisfied accomodation for the reasonable price. It used to be very expensive hotel some twenty years ago :) and it is still like experiencing the socialistic era. So if you want to feel that atmosphere, go here.

Radisson Sas Carlton: Dinner in Radisson :)
  • Tip Rating:
  • There is a nice cafe in this hotel where are delicious sweets and cakes. Worth to try ... Expect also higher prices but it is connected to environment. It is also great place for dreaming and thinking of moments when important or famous persons of the town and the whole world were drinking a coffee at this place such as Jules Verne for example.

Radison Carlton Hotel: The newest renovating hotel
  • Tip Rating:
  • It is the oldest hotel in Bratislava long years almost ruined. Right last year the Radisson Group sponsored the renovation and put it into use. It is luxurious hotel however there are many stories from the beginning. Some night spent here also Jules verne when travelling, and it was the place where we started to write one of his novel.
When I was a child there was great news when wild pig ran away from the ZOO to the center and "went for a coffee " to Carlton's restaurant. You should easily imagine that fun there and impressions of guests hehe. Finally wild pig was caught and sent back to ZOO.

Luxurious hotel with all qualities, facilities and environment and right in the city center near the building of Slovak National Theatre.
