Good Location, Shame about the staff

Pros
V Good location - 5 mins from Old Town
Clean, small rooms

Cons
Overpriced at £210/night
Staff very standoff and unsmiling
A report of a defective shower was met with bemused smiles - no action was taken
Breakfast was cold in all of the 'hot' serving dishes - cold bacon and congealed scrambled eggs. This puts you off eating any further. Plenty of great eating places 5 mins walk.
V Overpriced bar in lobby - Try Cafe' Paris in the next street, great coffee and beer - cheap.

Unique Quality: Nice view of the Presidential palace.

Crown(e) of Bratislava

A first class deluxe hotel, combining good central location with comfortable accommodation and superb cuisine.

For a top quality room, stay on the fifth floor.

Unique Quality: Massage, sauna and indoor pool are offered in the hotel’s fitness centre, also available is the Casino and Night Club.

pension ZLATA NOHA vs. hotel INCHEBA

We are a bunch of students from Slovenia who wanted to experience Bratislava's New Year celebration. We made a booking with Zlata Noha almost a month earlier. I did it the usual way - I first made the internet booking and then even CALLED THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY to make sure that we really have a reservation. Everything was going smoothly until we came to Bratislava. At the pension they said that they DO NOT have our reservation, because one of the receptionists FORGOT to write down the booking. And moreover, after a long dreadful conversation we finally gave up and asked for help with finding a hotel with available rooms, but THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LEND US THE F... PHONE BOOK!!! They really were extremely rude.

However, just as we were about to go back to Slovenia in the middle of the night, we found this PERFECT, VERY CHEAP HOTEL INCHEBA, which is placed just on the entering side of the Novy most. The employed were extremely nice, and as though the hotel surroundings have an industrial look, the cheapest rooms truly deserve more than one star - they were very comfortable. There is a 15 min walk across the bridge to the old centre, so I strongly advise it for students and others who might come with public transport and are on low budget.

Overall, our trip was saved and New Year on Bratislava's Main Square was THE BEST EVER! The music rocked and the atmosphere was outstanding! Go there!

Unique Quality: Hotel Incheba is perfect for students and everybody on low budget. We payed just 4800 SKK for a two night stay (2 bedrooms, tax, parking lot). If there is more than 4 people you can get rooms that are connected with a small hallway and a bathroom - it is like a small but cosy appartment without the kitchen. Incheba offers 1-star and 3-star accomodation. We chose 1-star rooms and were pleasantly surprised, everything was just perfect and would surely deserve more than one star. Outside is rather industrial, but on the other hand a shopping mall is really close - a 2 minute drive.
Strongly recommended!

Style at walking distance from Bratislava old town

First of all the location was very good. The hotel was situated the opposite of the Presidential Palace, which made the stay even more interesting. It was also a short walking distance from Bratislava old town. The area was safe to walk even at night time.

We liked the stylish and peaceful outlooks of the lobby bar; sometimes there was a pianist playing. It was a good place to relax before going to the hotel room (if you came early enough; they closed at 01.00).

The rooms were nice and harmonious; colours too (beige, white and wine red).

There was a small casino downstairs the hotel.

Unique Quality: The peaceful and relaxing feeling in the hotel and in the room that could be seen in everything.

Service was polite.

The location!

Excellent Value

The location is excellent, just across from the Presidential palace and about 5 minutes walk from the Old Town. All the staff are friendly and efficient and willing to do all that it takes to make the visit enjoyable. Can't comment on the restaurants as we ate elsewhere. It is a 5-star hotel but we found an absolutely excellent rate using www.alpharooms.com (£50 for a twin-room with breakfast). The only thing to watch out for is if you ask for a taxi to take you somewhere e.g. the airport make sure that it is a TAXI and not a limousine. Taxi to the airport costs about SK400 while the limo is SK350 each (and if you are two people that's SK700). Didn't truly matter to us as we were at the end of a very cheap holiday, so a bit of "luxury" didn't matter. However, it would have been nice to have been informed. There is an excellent grocery store next door - turn right out of the front door - good for juices, soft drinks, etc.

Best experience ever

Loved it loved it!
This is a new hotel that just opened 15 days ago, therefore they were doing some special prices.
We walked in got a lovely room for EUR 130 and every penny was worth it. The way we were greeted, welcomed, helped with whatever we needed was beyond believable.
What amazed me most is that unlike in other places - staff here speaks good english!
