by pisshead

2) The timetable and
3) The e-mail address of the coach line so that we can book seats.
Please note since my wife is Chech we can understand English,Chech,Slovakian and a bit of Polish. Many thanks,

I recommend Orangeways Coaches. I have not travelled with them yet, but they are very easy to book (I travel in August). see www.orangeways.com - if the information you want is not on the website then email them (email address on website) and they reply very fast and polite and helpful.

Travel Tips for Bratislava

Finding Cumil.....

by STEFZAMM

One of my fondest memories was walking through the streets of Bratislava, mainly through the centrum, where you could see alot of characteristics of the place, I enjoyed seeing certain statues/monuments like that of the paparazzi and that of cumil... I thought they were cute :)) While walking through Bratislava, I remember myself looking for Cumil, the very different statue that represent the work men.... until I finally found him and took a great picture with him... :D

surely my fondest memory of bratislava is the view from slavin and climbing the fence to get into the cemetary in slavicie udolie the weekend previous to halloween. in slovakia it is called all saints day. Traditionaly we go to visit the graves, bringing the last flowers of autumn and lighting candles for our dead. so the cemetary looked unbelievably and to take a walk there with all the little lights and flowers in the quite of the night was a highlight of my visit last october. you may find morbid to visit the cemetary at night :) but when you are in slovakia around that time, go and see a cemetary! dont get disappointed if you see people selling flowers and candles ( which is horrible i think) but grab a friend and find a quite spot to enjoy!

Streets of contrast

by gosiaPL

If you're by the Cathedral and then take a walk into Kapitulska, turn to your right into Prepostska St. I was stunned at the huge contrasts in this quiet street. Some houses had already been rennovated and looked marvellous, while others were still in neglect and screaming to be brought back to their original beauty. Some of them had frescos that could be barely seen! It's good to see restoration done and I hope the neglected beauties are only awaiting their turn.

Weird Hobby :))

If you are that kind of tourist like I am and watch for some details then you can find so many in Bratislava, too. For example the gates ;)) This one is in the building of University library and I have passed there almost 5 years when working for this library :)
