A 3 star hotel inspired by film stars that's located on a quiet street. After searching for couple of hotels nearby and comparing prices, we decided to stay in this hotel as our legs were tired after all the walking. The rooms were cosy and equipped with standard facilities.
Unique Quality: Located on a quiet street that's nearby to the city center, an internet cafe and other ammenities. Cosy rooms and friendly, helpful & knowledgeable staffs.
Doubles, no twins.
A nice touch close to the centre.
5 mins walk to the square, 10 mins to the river.
Each room has a theme based on a film star, hence the name.
This only consists of a photo or two of each of the stars, but still, quite a funny theme.

Hello,
How is the opening hours in Bratislava during New year and the weekend after?
Opening hours where?
If you mean shops and banks for example, they are closed during New Year. It will be Saturday 2 january, most of supermarkets are open, banks are closed, as well as on Sunday. 3 january should be a normal working day with opened shops and banks, but some shops or some departures in supermarkets could be closed beacause of stock taking. 6 january is a public holiday, everything is closed again.
Yes, I meant shops and museums. So most of them are closed 1st January but open again Saturday 2nd?
hops, I am not sure about museums, I can find it out.
OK, most of museums should be opened after 2 january, including 6 january

Castle of Bratislava - ranks among the most significant Bratislava´s dominat buildings. The castle was residence of Slovak presidents. There is interesting museum of history, from the top you have nice view at the city.
I have aded some rain drops to the glass in front of the camera to show that Holland and Belgium have not the monopoly of rain. In fact, I've been in many places where it rains but in most of those places -and contrary to Holland and Belgium- the sun also shines. A matter of balance, i guess.
Well, this street is busy with trafic and people. Obchodna, as its name explain it, is full of shops. At the end of the street you can see one of the four outer walls of Bratislava Castle. In the left inferior corner you can see a green cross, it means you're ill but you can continue...Watch out when the cross is in red. Your life could stop!!!
A beautiful detail is the "roof" on the top of the "announcement column" on the right. I think it showed the city-bus routes. Sylvia will tell the last word.. She ALWAYS has the last word, ask her victims.(-;
I loved the numerous hanging signs in Bratislava! There must have been a rich tradition of manufacturing these precious wrought iron signs to identify shops, stores and residences around the city. It's enjoying to pay attention to these signs and try to figure out what service or product they are advertising. This one was promoting a book store - perhaps specializing in religious texts?
Academia Istropolitana
a national cultural monument. It is made up of a complex of late-Gothic buildings with renaissance elements. This was the seat of the first university in Slovakia - the Academia Istropolitana, founded in 1465 by the old Hungarian ruler Matthias Corvinus. It probably had four faculties - that of theology, law, medicine and arts. Outstanding scholars were on the teaching staff. Professor J.M.Regiomontanus had to his credit the first successful attempt with a flying device in 1467 when his mechanical eagle moved its wings in front of the premises of Academia Istropolitana and flew over a distance of 400 m. The university ceased to exist some time after the death of its founder. Recently there is a University of Visual Arts.
