Hrad - Bratislava's Castle
by codrutz
It's always nice for a city to have a history and that is to have a castle somewhere on high grounds. Bratislava is no exception, it has the Hrad on the hill there.
Because in January 2008 it was just a couple hours walk to see the city for the first time (I did not stayed the night there, I was coming from Austria and drove to Budapest the same day) I did not go to the Castle.
This is actually the only picture I took with the castle, pretty blurry I know, it was freezing temperature, like minus 10 degrees, so so cold.
Christmas skating ring

If you visit Bratislava during the winter, you shouldn't forget to see skating ring on Hviezdoslavovo namestie. It's placed in front of the Slovak national theatre evey year and there is really nice atmosphere there.
If you don't want to skate, you can simply bus a cup of tea with rum and watch people falling on the skating ring:)
Musicians on the streets
by micas_pt
While walking in city centre streets you will notice several street performers. When I visited Bratislava i saw mainly musicians, singing and playing different music and songs. The musician on photo was playing several instruments at same time and dressed colourfully. This is their way of living so you might leave some money as you stop for listening and to shoot photos.

REDUTA BUILDING
This wonderful building at the Namesti L. Stura is just one of the many old interesting buildings you can enjoy in the old part. Most of these old palaces house official institutions, embassies and so.
Chateau or what? :)
by Skipka
This is the building you will see after boarding fro mthe Danube river, let's say arriving from Budapest or Vienna via boat ;)
Imagine that this building is a school, no chateau or some gallery or so as the look should evoke :) I really love it :)
