One of Bratislava's best
I have stayed at the Carlton several times in recent years, if I have managed to secure a good deal. The rack rates are currently around EUR 130 including breakfast, but various last minute places will have rooms for between EUR 60 and 75 depending on whether there is breakfast available. The decor shows slightly that it has been a few years since the hotel was refitted, however, the fittings are still a lot more solid and contemporary than the Park Inn that has the same owners, located only about 100m away.
The rooms were large, clean and well-appointed, with a good bathroom. The beds are always comfortable and I always sleep very well and the hotel tends to be very quiet in the night - quieter than its neighbour. There is an underground car park for EUR 33 per day, which is relatively good value and the location is outstanding, in the heart of Bratislava only about 100m from the Danube and very close to the arrivals pier of the Danube Twincityliner from Vienna.
Unique Quality: Central location and well-appointed rooms.

Not the Best SAS
The hotel is well situated in the centre of the city, however having stayed at several SAS hotels, this is not one of the best. The rooms (although they say recently refurbished) are pretty basic and not very stylish (unlike other SAS hotels). Staff are very good as is the breakfast served each morning. Again, if you're expecting SAS style - you'll be dissapointed.

Radisson SAS, Bratislava
Radisson SAS, or Radisson Blu Carlton after the name change, has a great location in the square in Bratislava. It's also close to the river Danube (Donau).
The hotel has 170 rooms decorated in typical Radisson SAS styles, with free Broadband including wireless Internet access, fitness room.

Slap bang in the centre
We are staying for one night, after driving from Vienna. The hotel looks amazing, like a palace from the outside. It is right in the middle of the old town, a very short walk from all the main sights - this is such an ideal location - it is diagonally opposite from the opera house and about 1 minute walk to the town square. It is summer whilst I write, so we were desperately grateful for the large airconditioned room!
Unique Quality: Whilst our room doesn't have a great view, it is roomy, new and air conditioned. The hotel has a large reception area with a separate concierge and check-in desk. They have a bar which is open to 1am. Breakfast looks like it will be impressive, more tomorrow when we've sampled it.

This hotel is right next to the US embassy. It is a historic building converted to luxuriant standards. The service is everything that you should expect at the Radisson SAS. The breakfast was also very good. They have bacon and omlets, a nice reprieve from deli meats and bread. Expect to pay 50 euro for a day of parking...ouch. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is American style.
In front of the Hotel there is a written account of the hotel's history that begins in the 13th century. It was a small hotel with 22 rooms and 150 stables.
Unique Quality: Teddy Roosevelt stayed here.

Almost luxury...
For accommodation, we struck it lucky by staying at the Carlton SAS Radisson Hotel on Hviedzdoslavovo namestie, right next to the Old Town. So plush was our room that, according to the corporate literature, it was only fluffy robes and an ironing board away from “business class”.
Having stayed – by choice - in our share of economy hotels over the years, we appreciated a touch of luxury, and the beauty of the tree-lined square, complete with cafes, bandstand, fountain…and, oh yes, a roped-off American embassy!

Most luxurious
We usually use this hotel for its conference room fascilities but the accommodation is great too. It's one of the most expensive ones but definetly one of the top. Great location - opposite the national theater right in the old center, a minute's walk from the river bank.
Unique Quality: Do not miss the wonderful cafe just behind the reception. I especially recommend it after a night at the opera or concert in Reduta or the National Thater (both just across the road), dim lights, pleasant live piano music and a setting that reminds me of the old films and the Orient express.

Luxurious hotel in premiere location
OK, this one is on the very expensive side but I was on a business trip so my company paid for it :-) Full-service hotel with all the amenities you may need, and in a premiere location in Hviezdoslavovo Namestie. It's one of the oldest hotels (if not the oldest), now fully refurbished and luxurious.

Five Star Hotel
The Radisson SAS Carlton is in a very safe area, there are restaurants, cafes, bars and cake shops nearby.
The Carlton is close to Bratislava's historical attractions which are within walking distance.
Unique Quality: 1) The staff who are friendly, helpful and genuinely proud of the hotel and the city.
2) The hotel is located within the heart of the old town of Bratislava.
3) The hotel facilities and rooms were of a high quality.
4) You get what you pay for.
5) The Hotel has a sauna.
