Pinewood Valley: Apartments on ski slope

This new development has only just been finished and starting to rent out apartments. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment and arrived during the dark. The apartments are beautifully furnished, very good quality suede lounge furniture and fabulous bathroom with black marble look tiling, looks great. We had underfloor heating in the bathroom, was great when you get out of the bath!! kitchen has everything you need and there is 100s channels on the satelitte tv, great for the colder nights in!

When we opened the blinds in the morning, WOW was all we could say, the views were amazing onto the ski slope, down the valleys and down to the village, stunning! We could hear the tannoy system in the village playing folk music! Aparently this tannoy system is so the locals can announce what fresh produce they have to sell!! All in Slovak though so couldnt understand it but the music was lovely!! The apartments were so quiet all you could hear was the birds singing, absolute luxury and relaxation.

There wasnt any snow when we were there but the ski slope is right next to the apartments so would be great in the winter. The ski centre is right at the bottom of the hill so you could just pop your skis on and off you go!! Wil;l definately return once the snow is there.

We hired a car which is necessary to get to the development as its up lots of hills (obviously being at the top of a ski slope!!). We spent alot of time walking out as there are a lot of hiking trails in the area and the scenery was breathtaking, we took time in the evenings to explore the village. There is an amazing 'crater' close to the apartments which is warm fresh mineral water and stays warm all year round! Would be mad to go in with all the snow around. There is a fabulous restuarant next to the crater with fabulous very cheap food and great pints of beer!! The hotel by the crater has thermal swimming pools and spa treatments, although we didnt use the facilities the brochures looked good with lots of treatments on offer.

Although the relaxation kupele suite was not opened whilst we were there, the staff said it would be open before the ski season so would love to return to see that as the whole development is pure luxury. they said it would have a jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation beds and a massuer you can book. Looking forward to the next time for that one!!

Unique Quality: unbelieveable VIEWS, closeness to ski slope, quality of apartments and furniture, friendliness of staff, great local restaurants with cheap food and beer!!
