If you're looking for a hotel in the middle of the nature with great views and a calminh environment, this is the one. A four star hotel, that once used to be a hotel for the communist party, now fully renewd inside with a small spa and swimming pool. All rooms are with view over a large alipne style meadow overlooked by magnificiant mountains. The hotel is situated in the east and most beautiful part of Vysoke Tatry, called Belianske Tatry. It is the last village before the boundary with Poland. The closest village is some ten minutes walk and also the road is well away from the hotel. You can acces the hotel by car or by bus from Stary Smokovec or Poprad. We booked a romantic weekend package that included two nights with half board and romantic dinner with wine, a horse ridden carriade ride and acess to the spa and we loved it. It cost 7 500 Sk. A room for two costs from 2 640 Sk to 3 960 Sk a night depending on the season.
Having breakfast at the terrace with the beuatiful view just absorbing the atmosphere is pure heaven.
A very nice B&B at a village 10 minutes to Vysoke Tatry by local train and just 5 min from Poprad. Has just a few rooms but offers a nice home like atmosphere at low prices. Very nice rooms and breakfast or half board upon request (the landlady cooks delicious home made meals). There's also a sauna and whirlpool in the house too. The only downfall is that it's a bit further away from the train station - approx. 10 min walk but if you arrive by car you can park it in the yard.
This is a small family run pension that has several double rooms each with their own bathroom, a common kitchen where you can make your own meals and a dining hall with a TV. It's good for budget travellers or groups of friends. The family is very nice and they have two beautiful horses. Although it is a 15 min walk from the railway station it's worht the walk and to the mounatins it's just 15 min by train.
This is a very good option if you have a car, otherwise it might get tricky getting there. It's run by a young family and they're very helpful. The appartments are nice, they sleep 4 and the breakfast is served buffet style and is more than filling. A sauna and a jacuzzi, parking place and a grill outside.
This mountain hut is located up the mountains from Stary Smokovec.
It is one hours walk from the end of the funicular railway in Hrebienok. This means that is a great place to stay if you aren't that keen on hiking further on in the mountains with all your luggage, and it is also a great place to have lunch on daytrips from Stary Smokovec and Tatranská Lomnica.
Zamkovskeho chata has a restaurant, which serves meals and beverages all day long. There are around 8 rooms, and our rooms had four beds each (bunk-beds).
In the attic there are mattresses on the floor, because the place receives many visitors in the summer, so book ahead.
We stayed here in autumn, which meant that there weren’t that many visitors, and the service and everything was great.
We paid 20 euro pr. person pr. night including room and food. We found the prices reasonable considering the fact that they have to carry everything up to the chata.
We (a group of 11 people) stayed here for 4 nights and our stay included breakfast and dinner. The meals were served at exactly the time we requested (and not even five minutes late). For breakfast we were served different meals everyday, and ranged from bread with cheese and jam to eggs and even to tuna and carrotsalad! For dinner we first had soup and then the maincourse. Here we also got something different everyday, and in general the food was ok and local. Exept for dry bread, we found the food good, especially the klobasa (sausages) and gullash.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our stay here was great and we even had a weird and funny experience. One morning one person in our group found some dried lentils in his boot. we all thought that somebody played a trick on him, until I also found some under a shirt (put there while I ate my breakfast) and the staff told us that they also had experienced lentils in their boots. Then we figured out that an animal was hiding food for the winter and we preferred to believe it was a squirrel (there were many of them outside) than a mouse.
The Park Hotel is not, admittedly, the prettiest building in Novy Smokovec, but it is a striking one, the rooms being arranged in a 6 storey high concrete semicircle. Dating from the Communist era it has a certain slightly wonky charm. I got a twin for sole use with shower/WC/TV/radio incl breakfast for 590 SKK (around £10.60 sterling) off season (October). All rooms have a balcony and mine had a view of the mountain. Staff speak English (and German). Has restaurant/bar and weinstube (and in season a disco).
This is one of the more hotels in Tatranska Lomnica but I prefer private lodging. There are a few people who rent appartments that u have all comfort like at home and your own privacy
No, I didn't stay here. But from the picture you can see the hotel was constructed pretty different than we are used to, and don't forget it's nearly in the mountains!
The best accommodation I've ever had! It was 7 of us but we rent a house with 17 beds, 3 kitchens, 3 bathrooms & some extra wc-s. TVs, nice living rooms, beautiful panorama from our balconies in the mornings.
