Gostisce Barbara: In an historic building!

We did not sleep in Idrija but when we will come back, we will book in Gostisce Barbara (Barbara Inn). It is set in the historic building of Anthony mineshaft in the center of town, which is already an exciting feature. Moreover, it is also a restaurant where one can taste the famous local specialty, žlikrofi. Žlikrofi are kind of savory raviolis, filled with mashed potatoes, chives and mashed bacon

Penzion Kmecki Hram: Friendly, family run hostelry!

Small family run business on a hill above the town of Idrija. Robert & Milka Fortuna are very friendly and hospitable, and will go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Rooms are quite big and have a balcony, TV and shower / bath.
Kmecki Hram has a good bar and restaurant with a choice of traditional food - including zlikrofi - and locally produced pork. It is very popular with local people.

The pension is in a hamlet, well away from the town of Idrija and a quiet haven to relax in. It is nice to walk around and if you want to stretch your legs a stroll up to the village of Ledine is quite pleasant.
At the rear is an area where local teams compete at balinanje (petanque) some evenings.
