Simonov zaliv
Most of Izola's visitors find Simonov zaliv (San Simon) the reason to head for the town in the first place. Indeed - hot summers sometimes offer little choice! Simonov zaliv is your typical beach-bordering-theme park where adults surf or play beach volley while kids rush down the humps and bounce on trampolines. The sea is there for all generations.
Sunbathing and swimming (OK, I know water isn't so clear, but we have to be satificed with that what we have). There are three main beaches in Isola: Simonov zaliv, Na punti (also known as Svetilnik; it is located on the horn of Old Izola town) and Delfin (it is located by the Hoteli Delfin). For me Patrik and Aleks. They are two locals, who have I known for about 7 years. They really are good friends of mine :)
This ancient coastal town was also originally an island which was only connected with the mainland in the early 19th century. Until a houndred years ago Isola was primarily a fishing and farming (wine-growing and market-gardening) community. These days Isola is industrial and touristic town, one of my favourite in Slovenia. Most of the tourism is concentrated at the bay Simonov zaliv on the eastern side of Izola.
