Best Value Hotel Kranjska Gora
This is a fully refurbished three star hotel for around 26euro per night with a super buffet breakfast and evening meal. The staff are all at least trilingual (EN GR IT and that's in addition to their mother tongue) and cannot do enough to help. The selection of food is enough to ensure that you will always find something you want. There is also a pleasant bar and you get free use of the swimming pool in the nearby Hotel Kompas. This hotel is actually cheaper than many of the smaller pensions and offers a far better meal service and overall good value for money. We booked this via e-mail with no problem at all.
Unique Quality: The view from this hotel is breathtaking and virtually all rooms are looking over the Julian Alps. We would thoroughly reccomend this establishment to anyone. One day we arrived back from Piran (a seaside town at the other end of the country) too late for dinner which is served between 1830-2100hrs and the kitchen staff provided a splendid tray dinner (complete with fruit and ice cream) so that we didn't go to bed hungry. This hotel is in both the Crystal and Ingrams Lakes and Mountains brochures in UK but it is substantially cheaper to book direct. The welcome drink and Slovenian gala dinner are provided irrespective of how you book your holiday.

84 renovated and 15 attic rooms ( with phone and bathroom) rooms with cabel TV, 6 family suites, restaurant ( 250 seats ), a la carte restaurant, pub, cocktail Bar, TV room, hair-dresser, sauna, table tennis, organisation of seminars, social events, gala lunches and dinners.
Unique Quality: Hotel guests have free entrance to indoor swimming pool in the Hotel Kompas.

Hotel Alpina Kranjska Gora
Hi, guys and girls I am going to Kranjska Gora in April and can't decide which place to stay. I have narrowed it down to either Hotel Alpina or Pension Tripic. I realise that I am not comparing like with like but, has anyone actually stayed in either of these establishments?
Are they nice or are they a bit tatty? My wife and i travel a lot in Slovakia and Poland and have stayed in some "right rat holes" in years gone by, and I do not want to make a mistake here if I can avoid it.
Any previous guests comments would be welcome.

Not sure where the comparison with Slovakia and Poland comes in. Kranjska Gora has been a busy and popular tourist site for many years and in my experience of it, standards are good. I stayed in Hotel Alpina when I was a kid (1977) and it was nice then. I had a quick look around a couple of years back and it still seemed ok to me.

Hello,
If you plan to stay in Kranjska Gora you can stay in Hotel Alpina - is ok!( or if you like to chose another private accommodation there - you can contact me - I have some friends who running the beautiful pension there ). The Pension Tripiè is not situated in Kranjska Gora but in Bohinjska Bistrica - Bohinj - so around 50 km from Kranjska Gora or 15 km from Bled.
