Mountain hut Dr. Klement Jug: For those "real" mountaineers
Located in the far end of Lepena valley, this mountain hut is a starting point for hikes towards Krnje jezero (lake), Komna, Smohor, Velika Baba and Krn.
Long time ago it was an Italian military station, it was renovated and turned into a mountain hut in 1953. Since then it was renovated several times, the last time in 1991 when the central heating was installed.
It offers typical mountain hut comfort and socializing opportunities in communal bathroom facilities.
It operates from the beginning of June till end of September.
38 beds in 8 rooms
a restaurant and a bar, outside there are also benches and tables

Pristava Lepena: Comfort and Art in the forest
There's a lovely, fairly large and deep swimming pool with the waterfall designed to appear as if it's running down from the forest into the pool!
The water is heated by solar panels, it is never hot but rather refreshing.
On the left side of the picture, under that wooden gazebo is a jaccuzzy, close to it is a sauna & fitness cottage.
Everything is close and easy to reach, and yet you can ejoy the complete privacy of your cottage.
Our had a real fireplace, logs were waiting neatly stacked, I couldn't resist even though the cottage was really warm, with central heating.
The restaurant and the bar are decorated with paintings made by Mrs. Silvia's late father Luis A. Solari from Uruguay.
Special and intriguing art from the other side of the globe, some of his paintings you can see HERE

Pristava Lepena: Absolutely Charming
We stayed here in one of cottages over the weekend, and I hope to visit this place again.
Something truly special - traditional architecture and modern comfort, peace and many activities available.
The owners, Mrs Silvia and Mr. Milan Dolenc are special people. They have built this place from nothing, and had to follow strict regulations about building in a protected area of the national park and regular earthquaqes.
Since they are both keen travellers who have visited so many places arround the world and sailed many seas, they used their experience as inspiration to offer as much as possible to their guests.
They are truly dedicated to offering a sincere personal touch, always ready to address any question or need of their guests.
Cottages with apartments for 6+2, 4+2, 2+2 and 2 persons.
Each apartment has a small bar-commode, but there's no kitchen since the nearest groceries shop is quite a few kilometres away. So you have a breakfast included, and what a breakfast it was! Plates full of superb quality cheese, salami, proschiutto ham, spread, juices, fruits, and you can order eggs and some other warm meals.
Of course they also offer the half-board and full-board accommodation, with wonderful mixture of Mediterranean and continental European cuisine.
