If you are planning on staying for at least three days you might want to purchase a Ljubljana Card. This costs 12.5 euros and allows you free travel on the bus as well as access to museums and galleries. It also entitles you to discounts in various retail ad food outlets. The card can be purchased from any of the three Tourist Information Centres.
Facades

Do pay attention to the facades while walking around Ljubljana! Many of the beautiful old buildings have been restored and are worth more than a short glimpse.
The one on the pic is on Mikolsiceva Cesta 8.
Slovenian beer and wine
by Canuck5
Slovenia has three winegrowing regions: Podravje, Posavje, and Primorje, and annually they produce between 21 and 24 million gallons. Around 70% of these wines are quality or high-quality, the rest being table wines.
Check out this site for more info on wine production in Slovenia: http://www.matkurja.com/projects/wine/index.html
There are also between 35-50 beers made by 7-10 breweries in the country. The alcohol content is often greater than by North American standards. The beer pictured here is 11.6%.

A trend i saw in the great city was the beautiful houses, almost Terracotta like, they reminded me of something i would see in San Francisco, i was overall impressed with the Arcitecture of this city.

simply walk in Ljubljana !
Ljubljana is a very quiet town for a capital. You can go everywhere very quickly and you've got some really interesting details about architecture and history !
And you'll certainly don't miss the 3 bridges : there you are in the center of the town !
