Your Home in Ljubljana

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on November 13, 2009

me and my brother had the chance to stay in this hotel for two nights last september. the location of the hotel is perfect. you can easily reach there from the train station and it's only a 10 minute walk to the old town and the Dragon Bridge (i mean the touristic city center) We stayed in the 5th floor and we had no problems with the hotel. The staff is helpful enough and each of them knows good English. The double room we stayed in was very clean and had everything in it. what do you expect more from a 3-star hotel? breakfast was not high quality but could be better (just a little bit) there are 4 or 5 desktop computers at the lobby where you can surf on internet and it's free of charge -you don't need to pay attention to this if you have a device inc. WLAN- :-) I recommend this hotel and I will book again if I visit Ljubljana one day.

Unique Quality: it has a closest location to any possible touristic area.

A Dump

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on June 5, 2007

Hotel Park has two sets of accomodations: business and pension. I stayed in the pension part of the hotel, which features one washroom per floor. To be honest, it felt like I was staying at some sort of Communist-era prison camp. The washrooms were basic (no complaint there) but the rooms themselves were even more so. There was a cheap lock on the door and the "bed" was really just a foam matress with no sheet and a very rough blanket made out of burlap or some other industrial fiber. The room stank of cigarettes and I slept in my clothes lest the bed contain numerous forms of insects. The room itself was less than clean.

Unique Quality: Its cheap. The only thing cheaper is a student hostel that is way too noisy.

Directions: Near the national museum, about 10 minute walk from the train station.

Hotel park

Avoid Avoid Avoid ............ This hotel has a great location nice friendly staff ... if you like breakfast do not go here ... the catering for the park is sub contracted by the Hotel.

We was told to speak to the catering guy ,I told him about the coffee (It was coloured hot water),as well as the watered down juice and stale rolls , he got very aggressive with me ,some guests was even buying coffee from the Park restuarant ,surprise surprise same guy who ran this as well !

Unique Quality: Staff at the Hotel very friendly and spoke very good good English

Shame they had the no control over the catering

Suprise surroundings but does the job

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

We stayed in a twin room of the hotel and it was very functional with an en-suite bathroom and some english channels on the TV. Breakfast was a buffet and is open until 1000. There is a small bar/restaurant.

The hotel is located 50m from the street and is surrounded by other tower blocks. This was initially a bit of a suprise after viewing the website photos (as shown) but this never came up as a downside to the visit.

Directions: Central

barf barf not stay at this hotel.
lumpy beds, musty hallways, orange koolaid at breakfast..this place is your hotel nightmare.

Having arrived in Ljubljana without a reservation I foolishly trusted the Tourist Board at the Railway Station and checked into this communist era apartment building turned hotel. Thank god it was for only 1 nite.
All I can say more is stay away..seriously..the local hostel is much better, next time I will be staying there.

Unique Quality: none..gross all around!

Directions: near Old Town

Near the center, good price

by written on April 13, 2005

The hotel is 800m away from the railway and bus station as well as from the bus stop link with the airport terminal.
Rooms are basic, but clean.

Unique Quality: Near the center, good price.

central and comfortable

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 23, 2005

The hotel isn't so pretty during the daytime, when it reminds you of a concrete nightmare, but at night the neon lit letters strike me as elegant and pretty. The doubles are configured weirdly: two twin beds with the feet touching, but hey, maybe extra tall people stay here! Be sure to shine your shoes at the elevator stops.

Unique Quality: nice close walking distance from the center of the city

Budget priced hotel in central Ljubljana

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 23, 2005

Hotel Park is convenienly located close to the railway station and to the town centre. It's quite a big place so you could probably show up here without a booking and still expect to get a room.

Our room was basic but clean and overall it was fairly good value at 63 Euro for a double. Breakfast was included though it was a little disappointing. Nothing worse than starting your day with a bad coffee!

At the time of our visit, in April 2004, budget hotels in the centre of Ljubjlana were few in number and Hotel Park was probably the best option. As Ljubljana becomes a more popular tourist destination I'd expect to see better places than this.

Directions: East of centre about 10 minutes walk from Presernov Trg

Cheap and convenient

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 8, 2005

If this hotel were not cheap and centrally located, I would not recommend it unless you are on a tight budget. That being said, I would stay here again upon return to Ljubljana. The room was barebones, but clean. The service desk was helpful. The included breakfast was so awful we ate elsewhere each day. We could walk to the main drag in 5 minutes. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, set off the road about 100 meters.

Unique Quality: Nice view of the city if you are on an upper floor.

Multi-story hotel, handy for the train station. Breakfast area was very crowded the morning I was there. About 10 minutes walk to the old town.

Directions: less than 10 minutes from the train station, in the direction of the old town.

Cheap and cheerful

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 28, 2004

The hotel is cheap and cheerful - the beds comfortable and a twin room was EUR 58 per night. There are TVs in rooms for the 2* rooms - not sure about the 1* room. Furnishings are basic but comfortable. Locationwise this place is great - about 600m from the three bridges. The breakfast is good apart from the worst cup of coffee I have had in the last few years!

Unique Quality: Location is great - very central.

Directions: Equidistant between the train station and the three bridges.

Decent Cheap Accommodation

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 30, 2004

I spent my entire time in Ljubljana here. The rooms are about as bland and dull as anything you've ever seen, but, once again, what the heck are you doing in your hotel room? It gives an excellent free, buffet breakfast and is a short and really pleasant walk to the center of town. I think this hotel is near a university or dorms, because lots of kids hang out here. But, you never hear them inside, so its quite alright.

** I checked my bank statement and I paid roughly about $23 USD for a single, even though they gave me a double. Checking their website, the prices have gone up to 40 Euro for a single. I would definitely bargain. **

Well located budget hotel

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 1, 2003

This is a rather plain hotel, but it's currently the only budget hotel located near both the train station and the center of the old town (about 10 minutes walk from each).

The rooms are clean but very simple. They reminded me a bit of student residence rooms. For 31 Euros you get a room with sink and WC and shower down the hall. Rooms with private shower are more expensive. Breakfast is included.

Unique Quality: Nothing special except for the good location and price.

Directions: Ten minutes walk south east of the train station.

The Park Hotel has one thing going for it and thats its location within easy walking distance to the historic centre of Ljubljana.
It has 2 types of room 2 star with shower and WC and 1 star without.
However it is very clean and good value.
The breakfast is poor watch out for the coffee / paintstriper!!!!!!

Unique Quality: Central location, excellent for exploring Ljubljana.

The park hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station. its massive with about 10 floors. Its clean and very popular. we got a triple room, well 2 beds and a sofa! for 10,500sit(£10 each) including a buffet breakfast so you can stuff your face in the morning.

Apparently, theres a brand new hostel called Celica in town which used to be a prison an dits meant to be fantastic so check that out too.
