Find Prešernov trg (Prešeren Square).
This is the centre of Ljubljana, with plenty of interesting sights within a few minutes' walk. Just pick one of the streets radiating out from it and stroll off.

I have to make plane connection in Munich. Any low cost flight from LJU to Munich ?
www.whichbudget.com lists all european budgemt carriers and their routes.
www.skyscanner.net will give you cheapest fares for your dates.
Adria Airways seems to be your only option (and not especially cheap).
Might be worth taking the train instead. There is a direct train at 15:25, taking just over 6 hours and costing 75.60 euro one way./ There are a coiuple of other trains, with changes, slightly cheaper.
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
will give you train times, details and fares. The Slovenian railway website:
http://www.slo-zeleznice.si/en/passengers/abroad
suggests you may be able to get even cheaper fares by booking in advance online.
Thanks for your quick reply. Train might be a good option, but again from Munich train station to the airport takes some time.
Well, if you are happy to pay the airfare then flying will probably be faster of course.
But it won't be cheap I'm afraid.
There's a private company which offers van transfer from Ljubljana to Munich for 39 Euros. It's in Slovene only, but you can send then an email.

Go around 9 in the morning to the market area by the 3 bridges. Go into the shops in the building on the river. One can get so many different types of food; meats, cheeses, breads, desserts. Pick out a pastery in the shops and go sit outside at one of the tables in the romanesque building by the market. The waitress will bring you coffee. Many elderly people are there at that time having morning coffee. Afterwards, stroll around the market. My fondest memory has to be sitting on the river at dusk in one of the cafes. The music, the wine....
There are several cafes in Ljubljana that also have a computer or two available for Internet use. The computers are usually free, although of course it is polite to limit your time to about 15 minutes, and maybe also buy a drink while you're there.
But if you want serious Internet access -- to use the Internet for extended periods of time or to plug in your own laptop/notebook computer -- then you need a proper Internet cafe. The only Internet cafe in Ljubljana appears to be CyberCafe Xplorer, who have a Slovenian-language web page at www.sisky.com. Xplorer is near the city center, between the triple bridge and the dragon bridge, at Petkovško Nabrežje 23. Snuggled between beer cafes on either side, it can be easy to miss when you walk past. They're open 7 days a week: on Monday to Saturday they're open 9 to 23, and Sundays they're open 13 to 23.
They have 10 desktop PCs, two laptop connection points, and lots of other computing services (scanning, CD writing, etc) if you need them. Laptop access is charged at 11 SIT per minute (that's about €2.80 per hour). They have an 8 mbit DSL connection. The guy who I think owns the place, and who works there part of the time, is very friendly and speaks excellent English.
Actually, this is a view on the Town Hall from Stritarjeva street. The Town Hall is situated just a foot from Preserne's Square and Tromostovje.
There are several optional names for the Town Hall : Mestna hiza, Magistrat or Rotovz, the last one is probably more common.
I think it says a lot about the friendly, easygoing atmosphere of a city where the sparrows feel safe enough to perch at your table while you eat. You often see pigeons begging for scraps, but these little critters are usually pretty shy.
