Tromostovje (= Triple Bridge) is one of the bridges crossing the Ljubljanica river. It is made up of a middle bridge built in 1842 and two bridges added between 1929 and 1931. These side bridges were designed by J. Plecnik and are for pedestrians. The middle bridge is for cars. Tromostovje links Preseren Square to the Old Town.
Some historical data

Archaeological excavations show that the earliest settlements of the castle situated on a hill above Ljubljana date from as far as 12th century BC! Through the Roman Period (at that time Ljubljana was called Emona), through the Slavs & the Middle Ages people kept inhabiting that territory. After WWII, Slovenia became a republic of the renewed Yugoslavia, which though communist, distanced itself from Moscow's rule. Dissatisfied with the exercise of power of the majority Serbs, the Slovenes succeeded in establishing their independence in 1991 after a short 10-day war. Slovenia has been a member of the European Union since May 1st 2004. Since it's the last official border to the south, they can be pretty strict sometimes.

When I first went to ljubijana it was to meet two wonderful friends, Tanja and Vesna - the third one, Ana, was away in South America. I had shamefully not bothered reading anything about the city, and was not expecting much from it: I just wanted to spend a few days with the girls What I found in Ljublijana is a wonderful charming old town with spectacular baroque buildings - definitely one of the most overlooked European capital cities. I appalled at my own ignorance: I had this great place so near my home and I had completely ignored it for over 30 years. The Slovene capital is a lovely lively place: a real jewel that ought not to be missed
Preseren Square
by KiNyA
Presernov trg (Preseren Square). It lies at the crossing point where the medival town meets the new city, and bears the name of Sloveni's greatest poet. On the Square there is a large bronze monument to France Preseren. Another cool thing there's the Franciscan Monastery Church of the Annunciation (Marijino oznanjenje). Part of the Franciscian Monastery dominates the Square. It was biult between 1646-60.

Every may in Ljubljana differnet events take place. From sport competitions, cultural events, workshops, partys... all organized by Students Organization.
And everything ends with a big concert on Roznik (hill just outside the center of Ljubljana) with famous Slovenian rock bands. And if you come early enough you can get a free portion(s) of Ox.
