In 1945 there was a inn/pub called the Kozachich (I think the spelling is right), that was along the River Drava.
I was hoping that someone would happen to have a picture of this pub/inn especially of how it looked in that time. Something of major significance happened there, in that year.
Also has anyone got any photos/pictures of Menjski hrib as well

There is a place near Maribor called Meljski hrib and - surprise, surprise - there is also a pub called Kovacic. They even have a web page: http://kkkarlo.tk/ (unfortunately no english version available). Perhaps you might want to send an e-mail to the owner?

LENT - an old part of the town on the bank of the river Drava, where you can find a number of friendly pubs and coffee houses, galleries, a well stocked wine boutique and an interesting feature of the town - a 400 year old vine which is thought to be the oldest in the world.For the more demanding visitor there is also a very elegant casino locatd in the main square.
University of Maribor building stands on Slomskov trg, right opposite to the Cathedral. It is 19th century building built in pompous architecture of the Austrian Monarchy. Maribor is the second biggest university centre of Slovenia.
The well preserved Synagogue was first mentioned in 1429, but must have been in existance well before that. Adjacent to it was the Jewish cemetery, the rabbi's house and the Talmudic school. After expulsion of the Jews, in 1501, it was turned into the Catholic Church of All Saints.
Zidovski stolp (the Jewish Tower) was built in 1465. In the past it was the dwelling of the town peace officer.
This contemporary monument stands on the square right next to the Old Castle of Maribor. Very often, when in front of such an work, we ask ourselves what the artist wanted to express. It is, as far as I know, unique monument in the world and is dedicated to the "secondary most important thing" the foot-ball.
This restoran has an authentic mexican ambience ( at least I think it does...never been to Mexico,lol ).
The food is delicious. I love hot food:).
So, what one can want more? The ambience, the food , the service... and all of that is just great!!! Can't remember the name, but it was nyamy:)
