Bled Backpackers hostel is a hostel located above a pub on the edge of Bled town. The hostel is relatively comfortable and has good facilities and is well located. I had no issues with the hostel until night came. The convienence of having a pub downstairs turns to annoyance as the noise continued late into the night. Added to this was the presence of a large group of drunk Latvian teenagers also staing at the hostel who continued the noise until 4.30 in the morning. Don't get me wrong...I have nothing against people enjoying themselves but there has to be a cutting off point. As well travelled people appreciate there has to be consideration for other people staying at the hostel and the problem with this hostel is due to the fact that there is no staff member present at night which leads to problems with security and disturbance.
Security during the night is a big issue with the side door to the hostel being left unlocked all night despite me personally locking it three times during the night after the above mentioned group coming and going without locking the door. The doors should be self locking.
I had a relatively bad experience with this hostel although I was probably unlucky with what had initially appeared to be a comfortable and welcoming hostel. However, certain issues regarding staffing at night and security have to be addressed before I could recommend this hostel so I would advise against staying here unless you are prepared to put up with disturbance late into the night.
