Kompas Hotel Bled

A modern comfortable hotel about a 5 minute walk from the lake. the staff speak excellent English and were most helpful. We would recommend the restaurant, especially since the in town offerings are sparse. A very good breakfast buffet was included.

Unique Quality: Good view of castle and lake.

This is a 4* Best Western hotel. The rooms are spacious and v ery comfortably furnished. We had a room with a 'side lake view' which looked out over to the lake and castle. Our room had sky TV, a balcony with table and chairs, a safe, a mini bar & an ensuite bathroom with a shower.

There is a sun terrace and an outdoor pool (currently being reshaped & retiled, but in the mean time you can use the pool at the Hotel Park over the road). There is also a fitness room, sauna and solarium. They offer a laundry service.

Evening meal & breakfast are served buffet style with a big choice of dishes + salad bar (less choice for veggies though!). We thought of Breakfast in particular as more of a banquet (there were cereals, breads, cakes, fruit & fruit salad, yoghurts, a hot selection, some cold meats & cheeses and some slovenian specialities.)

At the time we stayed though they were doing some work on the Hotel Golf next door which meant that in the morning we could hear the diggers etc. going past the window.

Unique Quality: The hotel has many rooms with a great view across Lake Bled to the castle. It is also ideally situated for the main facilities in the town. You are right next to the shopping centre with the little supermarket & there are numerous bars and cafes to sit in and have a beer and an ice cream in the evening . It's quite handy for the mini golf course too :)

The hotel seemed a very popular conference centre.
