Travellers haven hostel: Travellers haven hostel
just a 2min walk from the bus station up the hill, this place is run by a very friendly local lady who will assist with anything.
they have free bikes to rent.
we asked for a double room but it was gone so she put us in a dorm but allowed us to have it for ourselves for 40 euros.
The hostel has a very good kitchen and living area for watching tv and chilling.
A great place.

Pletna Bled B & B: Wonderful place
Absolutely wonderful place to stay, directly on the Lake. We were offered great service by our hosts and the price for lakeside accommodation is excellent. This is a small, family run establishment. There is no dining room so your breakfast is delivered to your room at the time ordered the night before. They did not ask for anything in advance and do not accept credit or debit cards. Location is fab with a balcony view of the lake and the swim area is directly in front of the accommodation. The main road is directly in front of the accommodation but the noise did not bother us at all, double glazed patio doors kept all the noise away. A big recommendation from Mrs Davesut who also recommends the shop here as well for tourist gubbins.
We were worried about parking in Bled but with this parking on the Lake, 15 mins walk from Bled centre, it was as close to the centre as the main car parks.

Hotel Krek: Great hotel for overnight stay
We were on our way gfrom Germany to the Dalmatian Coast and needed a hotel to stay for 1 night. This hotel was the firirst after the Slovenian boarder, it is directly by the mainstreet, which will be the new motorway in 2008 or 9. We were lucky that the reception is open 24 hours, the rooms are very big and clean and the check-in was fast and friendly. The next day after the breakfast and a delicious Caffe Latte we went on. The car and our boat trailer was safe in the garage over night.
Unique Quality: Good value for money, very clean and modern. Big car park and garage.

I don't know the name: Nice rental flats
There are many rental flats, rooms there. We rented 2 appartment at the same building. I waited some informations from my friend but he didn't send. I wanted to put photos at least.
It was very comfortable, like home.

Penzion Berc, Bled: Penzion Berc, Bled - Fantastic place!
Owned and run by a very helpful and friendly family, this pension is one of my favourite places. Our room had a lovely sunny terrace with 2 chairs and a table - perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine!
They have a free internet connection for guests to use in their lobby, and free mountain bikes to borrow whenever you feel like it. Plus they have a small lounge area with an honesty bar, and a book exchange - it's a bit like a cross between the best bits of a ski chalet and a well run hostel, with rooms the standard of a decent hotel.
Breakfasts are excellent, buffet style for the most part, but they cook you fresh eggs if you want them.
There is also a Hotel Berc across the road - This is owned by the same family, and looks very nice (I would expect that it is more expensive than the pension)
Unique Quality: - Friendly welcome
- Free use of mountain bikes
- Free internet
- Lounge with Honesty bar and book exchange
- Excellent breakfasts
- Good location within easy walking distance of town centre and lake

Hotel Krek: Nice and clean
This hotel was a good choice since we went to Slovenia by car. It is about 5 km from Bled but it was fine for us. It is a new place with modern rooms and nice bathrooms. The breakfast was served buffet style and was good. The only negative ting is the clossenes of the motorway but when the balcony door was closed the noice was minimal.
It has its own free parking and for the fee you can park your car indoor.

Various: Other lodging options
I would say that our accomodations at the Garni Penzion Berc was in the middle of the price range at 65E for a double, it was important to me to have a private bath and this penzion plus Penzion Mayer seemed to both be good value.
For the more budget oriented there is camping, private accomodations and a youth hostel.
For more luxurious accomodations you might have a look at Vila Bled, Vila Preseren or Grand Hotel Toplice which all seem to be lakefront properties.
We probably didn't need to reserve in advance but if you come during July and August, you are advised to do so.

Garni Penzion Berc: Reasonably priced accomodations
Garni Penzion Berc was one of the hotels recommended in the Rough Guide along with Penzion Mayer next door, Penzion Berc was slightly less expensive and had responded to my email first so I decided to book there. The Penzion Berc is a lovely renovated 11 room farm house which blends in with the Alpine scenery, breakfast and the lobby were in a similar building next door. If Penzion Berc doesn't have availability, there is also Garni Hotel Berc which was slightly more expensive and newer, opened in 2005.
While you do not have a view of Lake Bled from the Penzion, it's within walking distance of Lake Bled, parking is free.
The double room rate was 65E which is the full season price, they do not take credit cards and I did not have to reserve with one. I was able to reserve via email which can be found on the website or below.
Unique Quality: The double room was spacious and decorated in a modern what I'd call IKEA like fashion, lots of natural wood in the room and the bathroom. The beds were reasonably comfortable. There was cable TV and a balcony in each room, ours overlooked the Penzion's other building.
Bathroom-in the room, no soap in the shower, it was in a dispenser by the sink, not other toiletries. Although there was a device in the shower to make the hand held shower into a wall shower, we couldn't get it to stay put and after being bopped in the head a couple of times when it fell I gave up. There was a hair dryer.
Breakfast is included in the rate, the standard breakfast of meat, cheese, fruit, cereal, juice, tea/coffee and they offer to make you a hard boiled egg.

Bledec hostel: Hostel
The Bledec hostel is just a 5min walk up the hill from the bus station in Bled town on Gorje number 50a on the left. Its just a 5min walk to the lake and only 10min to the castle. We got a double room for 9500SIT(£28) which includes breakfast. The room was clean and very spacious. The breakfast was ham and cheese and rolls. The hostel has a great restaurant with great food at great prices. We had lunch(omellette, lasagne, chips and drink for 3110SIT(£9) and dinner(steak, pasta and 1 litre of wine for 4400SIT-£13) there. The lady who runs it is helpful too.

Hotel Krim
The hotel krim was "ok". The room was clean but nothing spectacular and for the price I was expecting a little bit more. I found it to be a little bland and the bed was not really to my liking. The bed was a queen size however it was two single mattresses pushed together leaving a crease down the middle that we both sunk into throught the night.
Unique Quality: Breakfast was included. We ate our faces off and then smuggled out muffins, bread, and sandwhichs we would make so we got a lunch out of it too!
