We stayed in this hotel which was booked with a package tour from our hometown. We found it to be quite ok. Food and service was good. Our only problem was not being able to find from where to turn down the heating!!! Eventually we found an old style heater in the bathroom and managed to turn the heat down enough so that we could at least breathe. We had tried asking the receptionist but unfortunately the one on duty (at night) didn't know any English so we couldn't explain the problem. But apart from that it was ok. If you happen to be there during the New Year however DO NOT go to the Gala Dinner! We expected a nice big event and got all dressed up but it turned out to be the normal evening dinner offered to those who were paying full board with just a bonus band playing on the side. It was a big waste of money especially when we learnt they had offered another couple on the tour with us to pay less than half the price to try and persuade them to go!
Unique Quality: Good food, quite a variety to choose from. Has indoor pool and gym facilities however only use of the pool is free, anything else you must pay extra. There is a games room downstairs for those who have kids (billiards and a couple of video games i believe).

I think this was once a very nice hotel, but is now a bit run-down. It is in a great location with good views.
Unique Quality: The hotel has health & spa facilities. We did not use them, as we were not there very long.

Always eat here when in Bled. If i cant finsh it have it wrapped and finish it later. Always good but can get busy in summer and weekends. See the English beer cans behind the bar? I put those there. Also recomend Cafe Krcma opposite next to hotel Jelovica. Nice little locals bar. Recomend puran ljubljana, turkey in bread crumbs stuffed with ham and cheese and fried. Eat half and take the other half for tomorrows lunch cold.
The best way to get to and from Bled is by bus. The little bus terminal (or rather bus parking lot) is on the north side of the lake near hotel Jelovica and Gostilna Pri Planincu (restaurant).
The schedules are posted on the building across the street. You buy the ticket from the conductors (who speak very little English). Buses are large and very comfortable with big seats and air conditioning.
Buses go pretty much everywhere you might want to go. Be warned that they stop in just about every town and village along the way though, so although distances are short, it might take longer than you expected.

Hotel Jelovica is situated in the centre of Bled , few steps from the lake. Haven't stayed there but passed along it several times.It seems very nice, you can get more info here :

I was in Bled last week & whilst I didn't actually go in the hotel I did get to chat with some other couples staying there. They were very happy there - they said it was pretty comfortable & clean + the evening meals were pretty good. Staff were also friendly - I think they said they spoke good English. Basically a pretty normal inoffensive hotel that they would be happy to stay in again.
Situation is very handy for the bus station. It is only a couple of minutes down to the lake (lots of rooms would have a lake view) - via the park that lines the lake shore rather than streets. There is a little supermarket a couple of minutes up the road. You will be on the side of Bled closest to the castle, where there are fewer bars etc. but there are still plenty of them & the town is pretty small really so it would only take about 5 minutes to get to the 'main' shopping area.
Situation is also VERY handy for the bakery 'smon' which sells the most amazing cakes in the world.
The hotel has health & spa facilities. We did not use them, as we were not there very long.
