A nice small Hotel only a short walk from the centre of Lake Bled

Great Lake Bled Accommodation Value
We stayed at Penzion Mayer for two nights in March of 2006. It was an outstanding experience: great service in a well-built, new facility. It has our highest recommendation.
Unique Quality: Some unique qualities include: a lovely, wood-paneled restaurant with great food onsite; great balcony views from the front two rooms 202 and 203; an unusually nice breakfast; the high quality of service from Ditmar the manager and his staff; and the outstanding quality and detail of the construction of the inn itself. When we decided to stay an additional night and needed help getting a taxi to meet our flight to Berlin, Ditmar took over in the positive sense: called the taxi company, negotiated a special price, and got his staff to pack us lunches.

A personal touch in Bled
Quaint, friendly and relaxing. Pension Mayer is convienently located, just a 5 minute walk to the lake, but far enough away that you don't feel on the main path. Pension Mayer is a beautiful Alpine-style guesthouse that appears nearly brand new. The rooms have all the amenities including a balcony. While there would not be much to do for children, the putt-putt course is a 5 minute walk. While friendliness appears to be a Slovenian quality, the host at Pension Mayer was so helpful in answering a multitude of questions and finding us information. He seemed to really care that we enjoyed our time in Bled and in the rest of Slovenia.
Unique Quality: The restaurant at the pension is one of the best we ate at in all of Slovenia. The food is not cheap, but is gourmet like in quality. There is also a wine cellar
