    Therefore it is advisable to have a look at the restaurants in the tips above!

    This too is a fine *** hotel and imho *** is always OK.

    NO, YOU WON'T MEET THE BLIND animal here, therefore you have to go to the cave....

    this is a lovely place to stay!

    and you are in the middle of that Wonderful Country SLOVENIA.....

    The Pivka Jama Tourist Resort is situated some 4 kilometers from Postojna, in a bright, mixed forest.

    It is one of the best campsites in Slovenia (not for tents.....)

    The last few years it is also recommended by all major Avto-camping clubs in Europe, to their members.

    When travelling to the sea in hot summer, one is tempted to make a stop at Pivka Jama for a couple of days, to relax in its coolness and solitude "far from the maddening crowd".

    Pivka is a place offering perfect tranquility and all the necessary comfort such as a splendid restaurant....

    The entrance to the unspoiled Pivka cave is right in the middle of the site and you can visit the cave with experienced guides.

    The site is also an ideal starting point for all kinds of trips and remember nothing is "far away" in SLOVENIA.

    A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!

    • If you feel it is necessary to stay in Postojna (which I don’t feel that it is! All can be seen and done in a day here en route to another near destination, say Opatija, Bled, or Ljubljana) I have to advise that the Hotel Jama is very basic and very traditional, and very unlikely that an American tourist would be happy here…as much as I enjoyed their presentation and the courteousness on my visit…I have to be honest to all my fellow travelers and say that if you must stay in Postojna your most likely better off at the Hotel Sport (which is more of a Hostel). At least it is clean and has free internet access for its guests in the lobby…
