Guesthouse on Komna: Place to relax a little bit

I was visiting Guesthouse Komna but must admit left a little dissapointed.
First of all they have the most expencive shower with hot water - 2 evro!?
Second of all the food was not good!!
Third the breakfast was more expencive than dinner??
And finnaly they are missing hospitality.

But how ever we learned it is neccessary to bring your own breakfast and to have your private room. We were sleeping in shared room with 10 more people and 3 of them were snoring!!

View over the mountains and Bohinj lake.

Kredarica hotel: Highest Hut Kredarica

Ok, be prepared for no heating in the rooms, make sure you have a reservation and enough money caus it aint cheap. Kredarica is, althought, the only place upthere that may be open also in the wintertime. Make sure to check, if you are going there, that its really open and has places to stay. If you are a member of some mountaineering club you get (I think) around 15% or even 20% discount on overnight stay (50% for UIAA membership).

At Least Do This:
Bring refreshing wipes, make sure you have enough dry clothes caus you aint gonna shower up there :)

Zasavska koca na Prehodavcih: Best hut food and a great view!

Standing strong at 2071 m, this hut is basically on the crossroads across Triglav. I came ther after a 2.5 hour hike from 7 lakes hut but there were people there who hiked from Trenta and Soca valley as well as people from Planika. It seems to be a cosy place to stay. Also take a reservation and since the hut is very exposed to wind, take worm clothes for over nitght. Unique qualities of the place are a fantastic view of Triglav from the "back yard" (usually I watched it from the side of Vodnikov Dom, Kredarica and Planika).

Warning: the toilet is outside of the hut!

MUST SEE: take a goulash soup and polenta followed bt pudding - it was verrrrrrrrry tasty!!! Actually the best food of all the huts!

Koca pri Triglavskih Jezerih (7 jezerih): House of the 7 Triglav lakes

After having experienced Kredarica's cold, I can share with you that this is the cosiest of the huts that I slept in on Triglav. I had reserved a private room and it was quite nice. The hut is right on the Dvojno jezero (double lake) and if you happen to have a nice shiny day, its great!
WARNING: must reserve a place to stay since the last time I was there too many people came without reservation and they had to sleep on the kitchen floor (there was a thunderstorm outside so no one wanted to leave).

Hut is clean, cosy, staff is friendly, there is a flush toilet. Warning: the food is not so good and its expensive.

Planika: HUT PLANIKA, south TRIGLAV, 2nd stop

Its a second stop on the way to climb Triglav from Stare Fuzine (Alternative is Vodnikov dom). Nice and cosy, friendly people. Its right below the Top (alternative route would be over Kredarica). They have a very nice wooden bench in from where you can chill and drink beer and sunbathe. Make sure that they are open when you plan to go. A just by the way, the name "Planika" means flower Edelweiss :) WARNING: No shower facilities and only a basin to wash your face! Bring toilet paper as well :)

Great view and great chill out terrace :)

Odar's Apartma(Vesna & Pavel): Stara Fuzina's best apartment

We came without planning and stayed for three nights.
A new apartments with all facilities (including full kitchen, a sat-tv etc.).
Not far from the lake (walking distance) and from all near by restaurants (that is if you don't cook your own meals...)
A nice balcnoy to have breakfast in.

Very nice owners that can recommend you for treks in the Triglav NP.

Mountain Huts of the Julians: Fresh air and grand views

Mountain huts can be found throughout the Park along most trails and beside most of the big peaks. They vary in size and amenity - the largest and busiest being in the neighborhood of Triglav - Dom Triglav (also know as Kredarica) and Dom Planika. Costs are cheap, food is hearty. Some rooms are available but most of the sleeping is done in a dormitory setting. If you are a member Alpine club, costs are cheaper yet. They can be places where you can come into direct contact with people you would normally never meet and experiences and maybe a few beers can be shared over wonderous views.

Each hut is unique: architecturally, topograpically and historically. Some are in meadows, others near mountain peaks. Some, you can drive up to, while others demand hours of hard walking to reach.
