A Private Show
by blint
We arrived at Fort Bravo late on a rainy day; there were no one else there but us. It was good because we could take all the photos we wanted without brightly coloured tourists getting in the way.
They also put on a special show just for us in the Saloon. There were 3 actors all dressed as cowboys. Basically there were two friends and a Mexican and they were arguing about some stolen money. They decided to settle it by a poker game; at which point I decided to take a photo. All the actors shouted photo and they posed for me.
They had proper replica guns which made quite a noise. In the end the Mexican ended up killing the two cowboys, but the barman killed the Mexican.
The show was inclded in the price of our ticket and they gave us a used bullet as a souvenir.
3rd excursion: Almeria, the Alcazaba
by Carmela71
The hilltop Alcazaba's hefty walls and towers dominate the city and command magnificent views.
It was founded during the first half of the 10th century by the Cordoba caliph Abd ar-Rahman.
At the heart is the Segundo Recinto while at the east end is the Ermita de San Juan chapel which was converted from a mosque by the Catholic Monarchs.
The Tercer Recinto at the north-west end of the Alcazaba is a fortress which was added by the Catholic Monarchs.
Its thick stone walls and sturdy round towers are in much better condition than the rest of the Alcazaba.
"Muralla de Jairan of Almeria"
Built in the 11th century by Jairan, the first ruler of the Almeria taifa, the wall descends the valley on the north side of the Alcazaba and climbs the Cerro de San Cristobal on the far side.
