Does anyone know a good site I can look at buying a traditional property?

by welshwanderer

Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing propety in Almeria, near Garrucha/Mojacar or anywehre nearby.

I am finding it difficult to find a site on the internet that sells traditional property as apposed to resorts or new builds.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

:-)

Have you Googled using terms like 'Inmobiliaria' and 'Segunda mano' or ' para rehabilitar' or even 'antigua' and certainly nothing with 'construccion in the title !
But I really think that whatever you discover on the Internet will never be as good as searching on the ground.

I agree with the last poster, I've been searching "on and off" for an older property in Andalucia for a couple of years, I did find a few likely options on the net, but when I visited they were not exactly as presented on the internet. I think that the best thing is to stay for a couple of weeks in the area that most interests you. There are some locals who run their own transport and search services, I don't know any off-hand, but other VT folks might. They will line up some good prospects for you to view (based on your criterion) and drive you to view them, this is particularly useful if you are looking for a rural property. Hope this helps.

theres a million property shops in mojacar and surrounds, and bit of chicanery as well
if you come here and find something ,call me and i can walk you through the process in the safest way, if you wait a bit its better as market is ready to take a dive

Travel Tips for Almería

Nature park Cabo de Gata

by Lisalu

The nature park Cabo de Gata is really wonderful. Great places in the middle of nowhere. Watching breeding flamingos, fantastic views around the next corner of a street.... all that can happen to you, if you visit this place.

A nice place there is for example San José in the north-east of Almeria (see also the pics for San José).

"almeria"

i have spent a lot of time in almeria in the past 10 years. everything which i have stayed in almeria i have found something different to do from Skiing in the sierra nevadas to just relaxing on the beaches. It hyas changed a lot in the past some for the better and some for the worse but thats life. It is a pleasure to visit every time and i feel lucky that i have been accepted into a way of life in southern spain

There are some great restaurants and the people are very welcoming. During the summer it can be busy with spanish tourists all enjoying there family holidays but in the winter with the sun shinning it can be the most peacful place on earth. There is loads of attractions from mini hollywood to water park to caves. The city of almeria is not very different from any other city in spain with a castle and the usual shops (Zara, mango and berska) but it does have a port to morocco. all in all i love this place and feel that people need to experience more than just the beaches of almeria.
