Royal Hospital of Mary Magdalene
The only civil building from 16th century in Almeria. The old hospital was founded by the Catholic Kings along with the Cathedral and destroyed by the 1522 quake. Bishop Villal?n ordered the construction of the new hospital in 1547. Still remnants of this old building can be seen in today's hospital. Run by the Church up to 1774, it provided care and help for orfans and poors.
Still serves as a hospital today (Hospital Provincial).
