Fine tuning!

by starseeker

I just wanted to qualify what I wrote below: I do want to stay near the sea. I get my best inspiration there (it's that Pisces thing ;o) Ideally, I'm looking for busy, arty, bohemian places with interesting people to meet.

Thanks for the replies! Looking forward to more!

HI, I nearly miss this one.

Mojacar is on the beach front, north of Almeria province.

And roquetas del Mar, Aguadulce and Almerimar are all on the beach.

I am afraid I can not help you in reference arty places, I am not sure if you will consider Almeria as a bohemian place, maybe San Jose de Cabo de Gata

Travel Tips for Almería

What you can do:

by blint

Walk around the wild west set and pretend you are a cowboy!

Walk around the Mexico set and pretend you are out to get those gringos.

You can rent horses and go off into the desert!

You can watch a special show which some actors put on in the Saloon if the weather is bad or on the dirt streets of Texas!

To can mosey on down to the local saloon and get your self a drink or a bite to eat.

The saloon is also home to the Souvenir shop.

You can also meet the Buffalos, Camels, Donkeys and other animals!

It costs12.50€ for adults and 10.50€ for children.

Almeria, The Shiny Corner

by Miguel_Marques

"Black sands and green seas"

Almeria province and its capital Almeria city lies on the SE corner of Spain. It´s technically the sunniest and driest place in Europe, nearly a desert, which gives it its peculiar features. Like gorgeous beaches, maybe the thing that first attracts the traveller, burt not the only. Great climate all year long, mountains, desert, water and winter sports, altogether with History, culture, architecture and delicious Spanish cuisine with Moorish descent.

"Phenicians, Greeks, Romans, Moors and Christians"

Even though it´s not one of the best preserved town in Andalusia, Almeria has something about its buildings and corners. Enjoy a mixture of tradition, History and modernity, at the capital city or in any other town in Almeria province. Almeria city boasts the biggest Arab fortress in Europe, peculiar temples, beautiful beaches and harbour and a vibrant, young downtown.

"Stuff to do, to see and to eat"

Don´t forget the interior of Almeria, mountains covered in woods and snow in winter, deserts and wonderful places to discover. Nightlife on the coast is great: Aguadulce, Almeria, Roquetas, Mojacar, San Jose... for any kind of style and mood. Prepare get into movie History: hundreds of movies have been shot in Almeria since the 50s, particularly Westerns, from "The good the bad and the ugly" with Clint Eastwood to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery. And you will have to eat! Enjoy a rather simple but tasty cuisine with all Spanish and Moorish flavour, as "tapas" or sitting at a cafe by the sea.
