Finca La Media Legua: Simple, clean lodgings in a rustic setting
Good location, less than 5 kms from Aracena and along the main road, but quiet and nestled in the woods, of apartment-style lodgings. Ours was a studio type, with simple furnishings, and good for an overnight stay. If staying longer, get one of the bigger apartments with better furnishings upstairs though in my opinion they're quite pricey, a minimum of 100 euros (pricey for such a location). Main complaint though was the breakfast which was paltry -- a package of bread, a box of milk, 2 packets of instant coffee and chocolate drink, packets of tomato paste and olive oil. Not worth the extra amount we paid for breakfast and certainly not substantial, and especially since the finca was located outside the town it was not easy to get additional food supplies to supplement the meager breakfast. Not good for those planning to have a morning out hiking the trails nearby. A fruit or a yoghurt or a box of juice added in the food basket would have been appreciated. I would recommend getting the room, but stock up on your own breakfast supplies from town.

Monte San Gines: Home from Home
the hotel has 6 main bedrooms and one family connecting bedrooms each with either a balcony or terrace. The hotel used to be a family home and the present owner, Joaqin, has redone the house to create a peacefull atmosphere with all the facilities you need. There is internet wifi, the kitchen is at your disposal with stocks of beer, wines, water etc. you just make a note of what you have taken and it is added to your bill, a lot of trust in his clients!
There is a communal lounge, another area for having drinks and a large patio for taking the sun or the cool mountain breezes in the evening
The beds are from Switzerland and so comfortable that I did not want to get up in the mornings! Some of the furniture is English antiques mixed with flat screen tv's! There is only one garage space and parking can be a little difficult at the busy periods.
Unique Quality: The quality of the furnishings is exceptional and the size of the bathrooms unbelievable! You feel as if the hotel is your own home and the atmosphere with other residents makes a stay here enjoyable and a place to return too

Casa Manolo: One night on a budget.
This is really a fair sized house that rents a few rooms by the night but as it does not provide breakfast, it doesn't really fall into any of the categories listed on this site.
It is convenient but very basic - a smallish room with washbasin and shared showers and sitting area with TV.
The shower looked OK but I'm afraid the towel was really small so I gave it a miss.
Unique Quality: €12 a night is the outstanding feature! The owners are very friendly and helpful but have very little English.
