Feria de Benalmadena.

The feria in Benalmádena is awesome. It is held at Recinto Ferial which is the feria ground and located next to Selwo park and Park de la Paloma. The feria lasts for a week and is the most fun during the night with a big tivoli, bright lights and fun. Along the main street of the feria ground tents are lined up with food, drinks and music. Out of all the ferias I went to this one is my favourite and I went there as often as I could. I must be a kid at heart or a Viking at heart because I was mesmerized by the Viking ship. I couldn´t tear myself away and I added a video of it here ;) It is held the last week of June in conjunction with San Juan Midsummer night (seem my tip on that).

Ferias are held in every town in Spain with a week of fun, dance, music, food and drink. People dress up in traditional Flamenco clothes, men, women and children alike.

To reach Recinto Ferial you turn right (coming from Puerto Marina) from the main street of Benalmádena by the big whirligig and walk up to till you reach Parque de la Pamola. It is more fun to walk through the park and exit at the left entrance where the café is located way up in the park. There immediately on your right is Recinto Ferial the feria ground.

The Paseo Maritimo promenade is extraordinary. All along the promenade all the way down to Playa Santa Ana there is beautiful art-work in the pavement, you literally walk on it. I just wanted to add this tip here with the pictures of some of the art-work, as this is the most beautiful Paseo Maritimo I have ever been to and would not want to miss out walking there. Absolutely lovely :D

"lovely place to live and bring the kids up"

What can i say... i love it here, the kids love it here and my hubby when he is not working loves it here too, i find benalmadena has a lot going for it, if you dont want to drive around especially when all the tourist are here you can walk every where and every thing is not so far apart, the schools are in town, there is a beautiful park where you can spend every day with the children, its called la paloma park, it has a lovely lake with geese, swans, duck, turtles and fish in it, two lovely cafes and a fantastic restaurant where you can see the children in one of the play parks, you have selwo over the road, lovely day out, the markets and flee markets in the centre of arroyo, the beach down the road, i could go on and on but i do love it here.......

CABOPINO, no far from benalmadena, a small marina, full of lovely big boats, fantastic restaurants and a beautiful beach, great for the kids you can sit in one of the resaurants on the beach the kids can play while you relax , very safe for them while you can have a drink some food and keep an eye on them.

The marina in benalmadena is lovely, the resaurants fantastic, the boats brill you can go out on a lot of the boats for trips, which are very good, and the night life down there ,, well is great in the summer season winter can be a little quiet but still nice, and for the kids ha ha well there is sea life, my kids think its great , a nice few hours out of the sun a cafe inside and out side on the top is crazy golf a bar and a ball park ideal for the little ones, as you can see every thing i do is around my children and i find benalmadena the perfect place.
