Massive letdown!!!!

Staff were rude and you could tell they just did not want to help! Their English was very poor! Dark dingy cold and un inviting, no smiles or welcomes from the reception staff! Room cold and smelt of drains very dark and depressing!
We went self catering so one evening we asked for room service to our room as we fancied a drink whilst getting ready, they were rude on the phone and they wanted 40€ to bring it up to our room! No way was we paying that..what a joke!
The hotel was a rip off and so not British friendly!
It was out the way a 20 minute taxi ride to the main town !!!
There was a hidden charge to everything..spoilt our 4 day break!!!!
KEEP AWAY!!!!!

January

My friend is thinking od coming to the Costa Del Sol in Jan for 5 days with her 10 year old son. They will be staying in either Benalmadena, Torremolinos or Fuengirola. What will be open this time of year? He likes to be kept busy. I suggested the zoo, Gibraltar and maybe a boat trip. Is there anything else?

Thanks.

Clare.

There will be plenty for her and a ten year old to do in January.

In Benalmadena there is a lovely free park full of wildlife, take plenty of bread. Opposite the far end of the park there is a sea park with dolphins, sea lions and many more attractions. Also Tivoli World and the cable car ride to the top of the mountain. This resort will also have plenty of bars and restaurants open to suit all budgets.

In Fuengirola there is a zoo. A day trip to Gibraltar will be interesting for the Rock Tour and the monkies.

Locally she will be able to pick up dozens of leaflets detailing all the attractions and will probably find that 5 days is insufficient.

I hope that they both have a wonderful time.

Travel Tips for Benalmádena

Midsummer night - San Juan.

by Regina1965

I celebrated San Juan - Midsummer night - in Benalmádena this year as they celebrate in style with a much bigger celebration than Torremolinos. Fires are lit on the beach on the whole coastline and there is dancing and drinking until the wee hours of the morning. It was unbelievably crowded especially by Castillo de Bil-Bil where I stood as from there was a big firework-show which was supposed to start at midnight but started almost an hour late. Don´t miss this event if you are in this area on June 23rd it is awesame.

Tivoli World

The entrance fee includes more tham 30 rides and thereare restaurants, bars and shops. live shows take place nightly, and frequently feature " big name " performers. Tourist office will have current details. Open daily May June and September 16.00 - 01.00hrs, July August 18.00 - 03.00hrs rest of year weekends and holidays 13.00 - 23.00 hrs

Proxima parada Banalmadena!

by AlexeRoy

"A nice afternoon trip!"

In Banalmadena there is lots going on around the port area: plaza Solymar (near the port). Plaza Mezquita and Arroyo de la Miel is also busy.
The market place near the port and the avenida Antonio Machado are the place to go to get good deals on many things.
On friday morning in the Tivoli world parking there is a market.
In Banalmadena you can have a few hours of fun at Tivoli World (if you went to Disney or even La Ronde, MTL you will find Tivoli World very small and primitive.) Tivoli world: 19 Euros per person: Not worth it! 0034 966 764 986, http://www.spaincostadelsol.co.uk/tivioli%20world.htm
