Sea view apartments in Benalmadena

by ebenalmadena about

Outskirts of Benalmadena in a side of a hill, 4 apartments in a villa with some of the best views of the area.
Swiming pool, BBQ and garden. Very good qualities

by didgeridorien

We had our own appartment, with two bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. It was really well priced and in upper Benalmadena, so not among all the tourists. If only I remembered the name... Your own kitchen and bathrooms, and a balcony with a nice view.

Spain´s recommendable holiday apartment

by Mariangeles about Benalmadena holiday rental

My husband and me took a holiday with our two samll kids in Benalmadena. We decided a holiday apartment because we could get more freedom and room fro the small ones. The apartment is located in a nice area in Benalmadena (Costa del Sol) and it had all we need, it was very clean and we enjoyed the terrace looking to the garden and the communal pool.
The apartments are in a closed complex where you don´t see the cars or any traffic, but just an oasis of gardens, plants, and the pool.
I recommend this apartment that you can find here The apartment has been fully restored in 2005 and has many facilities as pool, views to the garden, terrace and terrace furnitures, sunbeds, lift, parking, satellite and English and Danish channels. It is 200 meters from the beach and harbour where there are great restaurants and fancy boutiques.

Absolutely fanastic hotel

Just returned from an Easter break in Benalmadena and stayed at the Riu Puerto Marina Hotel - thank goodness!! Weather was atrocious but thanks to this beautiful hotel we had a brilliant time. The place was spotless, the food delicious and the staff attentive and obliging. The hotel definitely merits its 4* rating and we would recommend it to anyone. Will certainly look for other Riu hotels when booking in the future.

Absolutely excellent!

by TripAdvisor Member Nylsor

We have just returned from a week's stay at this Riu hotel. We were impressed with everything and everybody. The staff at reception, the chambermaids who cleaned our room so very well, our wait staff and the maitre'd in the restaurant, the bar staff, Miguel (Assistant Manager) and the actual hotel manager were friendly, well-trained and efficient. The food was absolutely excellent with a great range of dishes at both breakfast and dinner. Everywhere in this hotel is spotless - both the public rooms and the bedrooms. We are well-travelled, we travel abroad four times a year, and this is most certainly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. There is very visible management who actually take the time and trouble to ask if you are satisfied with your room and the quality and range of food you are eating. The same applies to the management of the bar area. There is great attention to detail. The only thing to mar this holiday was the weather which for Easter was absolutely dire - not the hotel's fault! Well done, Riu Puerto Marina, a great hotel in a great location. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Lovely Hotel

Myself, my husband and our 4 year old son stayed here for 5 nights in January and we had a really realxing enjoyable break.
Our flight was delayed so we did miss out on the evening meal we were set to have but the hotel had laid out a cold platter for us which was fine.
Our room was very clean, very comfortable beds and a well stocked mini bar.
The meals were lovely and the pudding choice was wonderful!
There wasnt a great deal for our son to do in the hotel as they had no kids club and although the pool is heated it was still quite chilli! The staff were great though and they all made a big fuss of him so he was quite happy!
Drinks in the hotel were reasonably priced.
The only thing that could be improved is the evening entertainment.
The walk along the beach was nice and the marina is lovely-do buy some bread and feed the fish-they are huge!
We did visit a large park that was brilliant-rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and lots more wondering around the park waiting to be fed! I cant remember the name of it but it was near to the friday market in Benalmadena.
Sea life centre / mini golf near by isn't really worth a visit - in need of a lick of paint to say the least!
Weather was quite warm - needed a lightweight jacket daytime.
If you have booked to go here you will enjoy it.

Excellent staff push it up to 4 stars

by TripAdvisor Member redhand

My wife and I independently assessed this hotel at 3.5 stars but as this is not possible on the tripadvisor ratings we raised it to 4 on the basis of the most excellent and friendly staff.
We booked via the hotel web site and got an excellent DBB rate. First impressions of hotel were favourable - well located, clean and a decent size room. The negatives were mostly minor things such as terribly small bath towels and TV with only the news channel in English. Even allowing for the off season the hotel lacked atmosphere and heart with the public areas deserted. With only part of the dining area being used, it seemed strange to have the tables situated so closely together and to be allocated a meal time. Food was good but was inclined to be repetitive and, as with all buffets, was warmish rather than hot.
We were awakened on one night of our stay by loud music? from a street bar. Reception staff were sympathetic but were unable to resolve the problem as the bar apparently holds a late night music permit. There is a possibility that this might be a recurring problem in the high season.
Overall, whilst we enjoyed our stay, we probably would not return to this hotel but would still be happy to recommend it when offers are available.

Benalmadena is one of the tourist cities of Andalucia. We where staying in upper Benalmadena where you can actualy meet spaninsh people. Closer to the sea, the buildings keep on getting higher...

A beautifful location in south of spain. One of my favourite places to have holidays.. Nice people... good sun... and surrounded with nice and beautifful places to visit

Benalmadena lies on the coast 21 kilometres to the west of Malaga. It has an extensive and attractive marina with unusual surrounding architecture. The well kept beaches stretch for 9 kilometres and there are plenty of hotels and appartments for rent. Two kilometres from the coast, at an altitude of 280 metres, there is an old inner city with traditional houses typical of a white Andalucian village, with narrow and well maintained streets.

"Castle Bil-Bil"

Castle Bil-Bil (Castillo de Bil-Bil) - an Arab construction decorated with red plaster, tiles and bas-reliefs.

"Castle Bil-Bil"

Ancient remains in the area are from Neolithic, Iberian, Phoenician, Roman and Arab eras. The name of the town is Arabic in origin and means 'children of the mines' in reference to past mineral mining.

Has anyone stayed in the Jupiter Apts in Benalmadena? We are planning a visit there in July and would like to hear from anyone with any comments as to the apartments and area they are situated in.

Thank you

You could consider the port at Benalmadena - very cosmopolitan. El Mero would be a good one there.
There is also Benalmadena pueblo - Fidels is excellent - really good food but friendly - silver service.
I have never been but there is a good restaurant in Arroyo de la Miel called La Perra - fascinating history.
There are also some good restaurants in Mijas Pueblo with good views but this is further away.
I think if I was going tomorrow ( I wish) I would plump for Fidels - the food really is good. Furthermore you could also make a bit more of the night by having a wander along to the little church and see the lovely views.
Have a good evening.

Spa's in Benalmadena

by maggley

Hi All,

I will be staying at the Arcosur Principe Spa in April / May 2010 unfortunately the spa at my hotel is closed indefinately. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any decent spa's / beauty salons in the area.

If you go from your hotel to the main N340 road - turn left and walk in the direction of Torremolinos. Go past the first roundabout until you come to the next one which is called Windmill Island (due to the fact it has a lot of small windmills on it!!). About 1km.
Turn left and go a few yards up the hill and on your right is a beauty salon. Can't remember the name and I am not there at the moment so can't go and look for you but it is very good. It looks a very small place from the outside but go inside and it is like the Tardis. They do lots of treatments, nails and hairdressers and there is also a small gym - most of the staff are English but also speak Spanish.
In Sunset Beach Hotel - near to where you are staying - is an indoor pool and gym and they do massages etc but not beauty treatments.
