This compact but fascinating collection comes mainly from Peru and Nicaragua, before Columbus's discovery of the New World. There are also local finds from the neolithic, Iberian and Roman ears. The museum also ats as a tourist office.
Open weekdays 10.00 - 14.00hrs and 16.00 - 19.00hrs Sat and Sun 10.00 - 14.00hrs Closed Monday.
Castillo de Bil-Bil is located by the Paseo Maritimo in Benalmádena, right by Playa de Bil-Bil :) It has got distinct Arabic influences. It is a Cultural center (Centro Cultural) and hosts exhibitions from the town hall.
In the garden there is a statue of the famous botanist and pharmacist Ibn-al-Baytar who was born 1197 in Benalmádena and died 1248 in Damascus.
Benalmadena is one of the original resort cities along the Cost de Sol. However unlike Malaga or Marbella it appears to be without a historic core. Its a good place as a beach resort but does not offer much more than that.
