We stayed recently (28 Feb 2011) in the Fuerte Hotel in Conil, Andalucia, Southern Spain and really enjoyed it and wanted to write this recommendation for other families. We had a spacious family room with fantastic views of the beach and could actually hear the waves rolling in. The complex composes of two hotels of the same chain interlinked and just a short walk from the beach, which is one of the best beaches in Spain - over 2 miles long and very wide so there's plenty of room for everyone. Each of the hotels has it's own large outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, and there is also a smaller indoor pool. The kids enjoyed the kids club and the 5-a-side football pitch come tennis court playing with all the other kids in the hotel. We had a very friendly waiter, Diego, who even entertained the kids with some magic tricks! A bit of advice for families with push chair, make sure you make this aware in your booking so that you get a room with easy access to the restaurant and pool.
Unique Quality: The hotel had some outstanding characteristics compared to other hotels we have stayed in, such as:
- Our room was very spacious had 2 twin beds and 2 bunk beds, but still had plenty of space.
- The view from our balcony was terrific, it was sheltered and a lovely sun trap.
- We had half board and the evening buffet and the morning breakfast was spectacular, the biggest variety we have ever enjoyed and all good quality. The drinks were extra but not expensive.
- The beach in Conil is very safe for small children because it is shallow, however as you go further into the sea you meet some fantastic waves ideal for boogy boarding and surfing, so everyone is happy.

Last summer i went to a HOTEL IN COSTA DE LA LUZ located on the Costa del Sol called Hotel Fuerte Costa Luz(http://www.hotelfuertecostaluz.com). It was a really great hotel, with friendly staff and first class facilities. The area of Costa Luz was also very beautiful, and located near the coast meant we had very good weather and were also close to the beach, which was also amazing. Will hopefully be returning once again this year. Might even try their sister hotel, HOTEL CONIL, which is also known to be superb.

Visited Hotel Fuerte Conil, in 2008 and I wasnt suprised at the quality and the experience I had, with having just visited Hotel Fuerte Costa de la Luz(http://www.hotelfuertecostaluz.com) the year before. The facilities were great as well as the area and the weather, being on the Costa del Sol, Spain. Was a Fantastic holiday and will definetly return again I reccommend these to be the best HOTELS IN CONIL, I am now also tempted to visit the other hotels which are part of the Fuerte Hoteles chain.

El Roche is a hidden bay with a beautiful sandy beach within a steep rocky coast. This nice place is close to Conil de la Frontera at the Costa de la Luz. To reach the beach, you have to descend the rocks, be careful as the way is very stony and extremely steep.

Another incredible spot, still not as tourist as other places on the coast.... except on summer moths lol ....

The 'Coast of the Light' ocupies the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz at the Atlantic Ocean. Here you can find incredible beaches.
Some of the areas in Cadiz are: Barbate, Tarifa, Conil de la Frontera, Chiclana de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Rota, Chipiona, and Sanlucar de Barrameda.

my friend and i will be in spain this july and are wondering how the city of cadiz is? we are looking for nice beaches and nightlife, and looking to meet as many people as possible. is cadiz more of a ritzy area, because we're looking for lower priced hotels and hostels? any info would be appreciated.

Cadiz is a very lively city, no problems with nightlife at all, and beaches but i will suggest to go as well so some of the towns on the coast, as Tarifa, Conil de la frontera, Zahara de los Atunes, El Puerto de Santa Maria ... and maybe a visit to Jerez de la frontera
