Villa El Limonera: Specializing in Rural Spanish Holiday Villas
"Just outside of the town, Cortijo Cernicalo is a group of 8 charming houses set in rolling, unspoilt countryside along a narrow, sandy track within walking distance of the beautiful beach of Fuente de Gallo. All of these houses have their own small garden. The properties are set within communal gardens with vines, trees, fragrant shrubs and flowers. A shared swimming pool nestles within these beautifully tended gardens from which you can enjoy a view of the surrounding rolling pastures".
The house we rented were cool, spacious and simply frurnished. There was alot of enclosed garden space for sitting and reading or for children to play. We chose the option of a shared pool as the Small Person was very small then and we didn't want the risk of her toppling into the pool when our backs were turned, but Travellers Way have other options with your own private pool too.
Enjoy the waking sound of cock-a-doodle-doos and donkeys braying. Lovely and unspoilt and a few mins drive down a dirt track to some truly wonderful beaches.
A car is needed to make the most of the area.
Highly recommended.
Unique Quality: Lovely unspoilt countryside vibe, close to great beaches, not far from Conil rown (car needed).

Costa Conil Hotel
This recently built 4* hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Conil. Is similar to El Fuerte, only with a "whiter" decoration. The beach is just 100 meters below, there is direct access from the swimming pool.
I haven't slept there, as I have family in Conil, but we went for a coffee once and it looked quite nice. You can find more details in the web below:

Private rooms
In summer there are many houses here renting rooms for tourists and even whole houses. You will see signs with telephone numbers in many buildings and windows.
You can reserve from one year to the next if you have liked the room enough.

Fuerte and Costa Conil: Hotel Fuerte and Costa Conil at Playa Fontanilla
I stay two nights at hotels Costa Conil and Hotel Fuerte both located on the Playa Fontanillal; conveniently steps away from the beach and at around 100 euros for a double, it's hard to criticise. But, there are some very distinct things to remember. Since Conil is a small village, there is no bus or shuttle from these hotels into the main town (15-2- minute uneventful walk). Secondly, they are extremely resort-ish, esp Hotel Fuerte which attracts families with kids and teens and has all of the resort trappings like lounge-lizard nightly entertainment and waiters that hit on single women. The room that I stayed in reeked of cigarettes and the entire hall reeked of a strong men's cologne (Hotel Fuerte). Also, be warned that as of this writing Conil is under a lot of development along the beaches--there is a hotel being built between these two which means noise and rooms with construction views. Also, set up in a traditional style with a large patio or common areas (half of the lobby is the banquet dining room at costa conil) if they happen to book a large event or have entertainment (a bad singer with a synthesizer and a large wedding at Costa Conil) you WILL hear the noisey festivities. At Costa Conil all of the rooms face the inner plaza so getting a quiet room (if there is something going on) is impossible. The rooms are hardly soundproofed and such things can last close to midnight. Ask questions and be careful when you book; I was fooled by the good prices. There are many hostals (a bit more rough) within town that are close to (more public) beaches but if you're looking to escape and relax it may be a better option.
Unique Quality: great views of the sea but watch the ongoing construction in this area; two minutes from the beach; two restaurants located right on the beach(known in some guides as the "two best restaurants in conil", but mind what you order-- stay away from mayonnaise, cold soups and shellfish. I was brave enough to try these things and I got food poisoning!

Camping Los Caños (pronounce it "cagnos")
This nice camping is located not far from the Trafalgar Lighthouse, between the beaches of El Palmar and Caños de Meca.
There you have long wild white sand beaches and many daytrips around: Vejer, Conil, Tarifa, roman ruins of Baelo Claudia...
Unique Quality: Not only campground, also wooden bungalows for groups or families. No pets allowed.
