Most comfortable place

Located in the Juderia, and only a ten-minute walk from the Mezquita and other sites of interest, the Hospederia de el Churrasco is a nine-room inn set in a beautiful old (and renovated) mansion.

The complimentary breakfast was served in the atrium or in a patio just off the kitchen.

Our room (211) was very small, but nicely outfitted and quite comfortable. All rooms are pictured -- and services described -- on the hotel's outstanding website.

Unique Quality: In-room computer, free and generous breakfast, ulta-helpful staff. Juan, the desk clerk, was one of the friendliest and most helpful hoteliers we've ever encountered; he is certainly the most energetic. Juan insisted upon carrying our large bags (27 and 36 pounds) up two flights of stairs to our room -- and down again upon our departure. He seemed to be everywhere during our stay, even helping to serve breakfast.

The hotel's excellent restaurant, also called El Churrasco (q.v.), is just down the street.

Juan also gave us a tour of the hotel/restaurant's wine room, next door to the hotel. It holds casks and thousands of bottles of Spanish wine. Tasting is offered, though we demurred.
