A short walk to the train station, Hotel Cordoba Center is a 4 star hotel located on Avenida de la Libertad in an area referred to as the “Golden Block”. Major attractions, including the Mezquita, Museo de Julio Romero, Old Town Hall, and Calleja de las Flores are situated 2km away, in the older part of the city. VirtualTourist members say Hotel Cordoba Center is good for historical travel, and architecture; they give it a 96% overall satisfaction rating. Reviewers note that the rooms are spacious and comfortable, “a nice business hotel with good facilities” and a view. One particular feature guests mention is the patio piano bar. While some said they enjoyed the 20-minute walk to the city center, others felt the relative location was a drawback, too far away to be considered “Cordoba Center”. Some guests were critical of the customer service. Amenities include high-speed wireless Internet access, a fitness center and pool on the roof, room service, multilingual staff, restaurants, and a café.

Good situation
The Hotel Córdoba Center with a 4-star superior category is located in the so-called “Golden Block” in Cordoba.
Unique Quality: A nice view and a good swimmingpool .
Near the train station (for the AVE high-speed train) and right in the middle of the business and entertainment area, with fast and easy access to the historic centre of this city of the mosque.

Renfe station to Cordoba center hotel
I will be staying in Cordoba center hotel on -- Avda. de la Libertad, 4 Esqu. Avda.Gran Capitan. From Renfe train station. hotel website says its 10 minute walk. But arriving at 12:30 in the afternoon dragging 4 suitcases, walking will feel like 1 hr I guess. How much does a Taxi ride cost ?? may be few Euros right ? Are taxis easily available outside the station ?
Also after checking into hotel, is there anything I can see in the afternoon or more like evening after 3pm ?? Plan to visit Mezquita the next day. wondering how I can utilize the half day.

I don't know why it is called Cordoba Center because the centre of the City is further south and this hotel is, in my opinion, the 'wrong' side of Cordoba for seeing the old city. Having said that, it is good for using the large underground car parking along this Avenida, but as you are not driving that is of little matter! Opposite the hotel is a long park (built over the car parking) which is relaxing and you can take refreshments. Cross over the main roads and you get into Gran Capitan which is the beginning of the shopping area in 'newer' Cordoba. The big department store called El Corte Ingles is here. I would say you could walk from the station to the hotel as it must be about 0.5 km. Take it slow in the heat ! Take the exit towards the bus station which is across the road from the Renfe station. Then turn right and that's Av Libertad.
From the hotel you can walk down to the Cathedral/ Mezquita in about 20 to 30 minutes. Just get to Gran Capitan and continue walking.

and click on Monuments & Museums opening times - naturally enough ! On left side. Mondays are bad days for visiting in Sopain because after the weekend they tend to close many museums etc.
