good budget option in Cordoba

At the time of my visit the Maestre offered two different levels of service. one was, of course, the hotel, the other the hostel. these were next door to each other.

The Maestre was a simple hotel, nothing fancy, but very nice and clean. around the corner from the historic Plaza del Potro and well located in Cordoba. The Mezquita was not far away at all, it is just a matter of navigating the tiny streets that often seem to follow no logic at all. The first few times, after getting hopelessly lost trying to find my way home through these medieval mazes...i found the quick way was to walk down to the riverside, follow it up until the main complex and then make a quick right and you were right there at the Mezquita.

the room was clean and comfortable, overlooking a nice little patio. Continental breakfast was served in the hostel next door, but there was a multitude of little places to eat nearby too.

The hotel has a wonderful cordoban tiled patio which was used for serving drinks and relaxing. in spring when the flowers bloom it must been stunning:)

there was a bus that went to the train station that passed by the hotel, but i was talked into getting a cab back to the train station if i was in any hurry at all.

In all the Maestre served as a nice base for exploring Cordoba. I was there for three nights and
enjoyed my stay.

NOTE- at the time of my stay the doors did NOT lock automatically.

Hotel Maestre - Good value Cordoba accommodation

Hotel Maestre was our base for our 3 night stay in Cordoba. We had booked the hotel online prior to arrival and paid 54 Euro per night for a double room, which was good value compared to many hotels in the city.

The hotel is in a nice area of Cordoba, close to San Francisco church and Potro square, and about 5 minutes walk east of the Mezquita. Our room was small but comfortable and we had TV and ensuite bathroom, with a limited view over the hotel courtyard. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was quiet.

Breakfast is available but was not included in the rate. There are plenty of cafes in the area so we ended up eating out for breakfast every day.

Lovely little hotel

This is a nice little hotel (not hostel like the name suggests), it is on a quiet little street about 10mins walk past a few shops and restaurants from the Mezquita. It was good value, clean and a reasonable sized room.
I just turned up and paid €25 for a single room in February. They do offer breakfast for an extra €3 and parking if you need it at an extra cost but I dont know how much. They do not have a website at the moment so if you want to make a reservation you do need to call.
I would go back if I was in Cordoba again.

Unique Quality: The room I had looked on to a little courtyard which was lovely
