More about Hotel Fuengirola Park

Fuengirola Park - Ideal for the over 80's

by A TripAdvisor Member

As an active couple in our mid forties (grown up kids) we decided to spend a week at the Fuengirola park in November 2004 on our own.
I have never been one for negativity as a holiday is what you make it but I have to say that the majority of the clientel probably shared a year of birth with my grand-parents. If you are a septegenarian /Octogenarian or older then this hotel can provide with months of warm winters and long stay associated entertainment.

The hotel is situated too far from the active section of the resort and only a small number of bars competed for the limited winter tourism.

The noise from adjacent rooms was overwhelming, I think there must have been a pensioner's chair dragging over the floor tiles competition which ran from 4AM till 9 PM.

The food was standard 3 star but the lounge was unbearable for non-smokers.

I feel that the hotel would be better judged at peak summer times and the opposite end of the resort would be a better option for those looking for some activity. PG West lothian.

Do not go there

Just got back from the Fuengirola Park Hotel and its the worst hotel I have been to. The rooms are small and pokey and if you are travelling there with kids they have no such thing as family bedrooms. The rooms are made for two people and any one over that number is given a camp bed to sleep in - which you will have to find space for anywhere you can. The food is not great and as the place is full of rude Spanish pensioners on their Government funded holidays, you may prefer not to eat at the hotel at all. ALL entertainment is geared towards the Spanish pensioners and there is nothing for children at all. It looked promising when the entertainment board said that there would be a disco one night but unfortunately it was a disco for the over '60's - The main part of Fuengirola is over 20 minutes walk away. We won't be going back!

Very nice clean hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

We have just had a last minute booking at the Fuengirola Park, was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, I don't know what some people expect, the place was spotlessly clean and the majority of the staff very helpful, some of the food could have been hotter, but the Spanish do not eat their meals hot, they talk too much!!!!
The walls are no thinner than anywhereelse it is just the design of the service duct in the bathroom which transfers sounds through the grille!
The train station is about 2 minutes walk from the Hotel entrance and the fare either to or from the airport is 1.20 euros and the trains run every half hour during the day! Excellent service and much cheaper than a taxi for transfers!

Avoid at all costs

Our family had the misfortune of staying here in August 2003, Never Ever again!! Booked 10 nights Half Board but after the first 4 evening meals, refused to eat in the restaurant at night again, (due to the poor quality food) and paid to eat elsewhere. Maybe because it was the height of the season, I don't know, but it is the the only holiday where I have had to queue up at 10 am for the gardener to unlock the chain surrounding the sunbeds, and despite having been one of the first in the queue since 9 am, it is then a complete free for all, followed with daily scuffles arguing over the sun beds, and they were mostly the women! Also, whilst returning to the hotel one evening, my husband ended up having to stop 2 teenage boys kicking each other half to death, whilst their parents & other 'adults' looked on & did nothing!!

The other thing to mention is the fact that the whole time we were there, not once did the pool area get swept or cleaned, the whole place was littered with cigarette butts & ash, totally disgusting.

The best day of that holiday was the day when we left!!

Avoid like the plague!!!

New Year holiday from hell

The food at this hotel is not worth eating at all and everyone was complaining about it for the money paid it was a waste of money which is hard earned.
Notr only was the food greasy, over-cooked but also cold even when thesoup was pored into the pots straight from the kitchen it was cold.
The hotel cosmos rep Lisa seemed more interested in sorting out trips than giving guests much assistance even on wcheck out day there was not indication of flight times on the board or pick up times from the hotel.
My travelling companion is still in the Costa Del Sol hospital, once out the hotel even trying to sort ourselves some alternative accommodation she did not come forward knowing our plite.
The pool was never seem to be cleaned

Poor show

by TripAdvisor Member annanloyalist

Hotel is not in fuengirola you need to take a bus there! It has very small basic rooms with paper thin walls-you can hear people in the next room talking, snoring, using the toilet in great detail etc-it also has very old and noisy water pipes that keep you awake most of the night. The food is disgusting, luke warm and chucked onto the buffet serving area with no presentation. The staff are very abrupt and could not care less about you, unless you are spanish.Deffinately give this a wide bearth, even if you are offered it f.o.c.

good location but...

by A TripAdvisor Member

We were last minute moved to this hotel due to overbooking at the Gardenia Park Hotel. The location was ideal and only two minutes from the Torre Blanca train station, so long as you have trolley suitcases! and only 1.20 Euros on the train. The hotel itself is clean enough but rooms were small and basic. The buffet style meals are "adequate" We arrived at the same time as about 300 Spanish OAP's on a freebie holiday so there was much jostling at meal times to say the least! The majority of them were rude and LOUD!
We booked this through Alpharooms and for what we paid we were satisfied but I wouldn't recommend for more than a week and go out of season. I think it would be horrendous in the dining hall at the height of season there are two lifts (usually only one working) and only 4 people can get in at one time so at meal times you can wait a while.

One of the most annoying thing about this hotel is the meal times, The spanish OAP'S have to get in first ,pity help anyone who dares to get to the food before they do.You will be pushed out of the way and and given verbal abuse all in spanish of course, dare you argue with them and they will not comprendy , dare you try and share a table you will be beheaded, stay clear of this hotel at meal times or get in first if you can, not the place for families with young children, unless you are spanish. Apart from this wee complaint Spain is lovely and cant wait to return.

loved it

we have spent a month at this hotel and we can say it is very well run. the food is excellent and after reading other reports i think it has an unfair feedback. it is vary clean and we had a very relaxing holiday which is what we went for . the hotel is friendly and an ideal base for exploring all towns it was a bit noisy but just like england you can have noisy people next door that have no consideration for anyone . kids are made welcome but not much for them to do but we enjoyed the quiet of no kiddies reps running riot . yes we would go back and for all the people who are not satisfied , i just wonder what sort of food they live off and what sort of thing do they want when they go on holiday
