I am visiting the la jabega in july any information about the hotel or locality would be helpful
Re: la jabega

The town/resort is seriously underwhelming. Lots of high rise ex-pat ghettos and no real beach. If its not to late I would suggest another resort.
All the best,
DAO

There are 700 metres by foot from Estación de Los Boliches (railway station) to Calle Jaén, where the hotel lies according to ViaMichelin http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichelin/gbr/tpl/hme/MaHomePage.htm

This was one of the first places I ever stayed in Spain. The Jabega apart-hotel was refurbished a couple of years ago and is located at the quite end of Fuengirola in an area known as Los Boliches right opposite the beach, great location.
I have more info and lots of photos on Fuengirola at http://spainguides.com/fuengirola.html

Little bit of advice please
by Olly2005
Hi, just booked to go away to Fuengirola to La Jabega Apts. in July (2nd to 16th). There'll be 6 of us all 18/19. I have been to Fuengirola about 8/9 times with my family and know it fairly well, but was just wondering if anyone had any tips for going out, or where to find the best nightlife. I seem to remember there being plenty to do in the way of discos and bars etc, is this true?
Anyway, any help would be really really appreciated. Thanks.

Remembering the Spanish Peseta in Style.
by Waalewiener
Well you decide , is this a nice way to remember the Spanish peseta, I think is looks wonderful ,great location ,smack in the middle of this beautiful esplenada on the beautiful seaside.Off course now we have the Euro, and no more pesetas.
bueno, bueno, los churritos
by zumodemango
As in most parts of Spain: churros. Nothing better than a breakfast:chocolate with churros. It's free fat and give you energy! break a diet(like in my case) to eat here in Fuengirola.
pero que pinta tiene, Dios mio!!!
Portofino
by diageva about Portofino
Portofino is an excelent restaurant, everything is caulity and good made, very good choice to eat or diner at fuengirola Solomillo a la pimienta, berengenas fritas con miel de caña, any "pescao fresco del dia a la plancha" (fresh fish of the day). The have also good italian food because the owner is Italian, but lives in Spain since ... nearly 30 years
Parque del Sol.
by Regina1965
Parque del Sol is a lovely park next to the Fuengirola Zoo. It was inaugurated on October 2nd 1989 by the Mayor of Fuengirola in memory of Ma. del Carmen Diez de la Fuente. It has got a stream with ducks and a lot of vegetation, parts of it are like you are in a jungle (see one of my photos). There is a very interesting artwork there, like it were the parts of a rainbow, very lovely. This park is so worth visiting f.ex. when visiting the Zoo.
Breath taking
by rachel_sun
We walked around Mijas and there were a selection of gift shops and a few nice bars and restaurants and we had a drink on one of them.We then walked along and saw a church and it had a garden at front and wonderful views across the mountains to the sea.It was breath taking. There were a few benches and we just sat for a while and admired the views.
