train fuengirola to algeciras

by mikedavies

can we get a return trip by train from fuengirola to algeciras ?

Re: train fuengirola to algeciras

by puerto_lover

The train runs from Malaga City via the airport and finishes at Fuengirola.
No train along the coast to Algeciras. Only bus.
Look at http://www.ctsa-portillo.com/ima/pdf/fuengirola.pdf?1 for times.

Phew!

Try the coastal bus service (Alsina Graells, I think, red and white buses, quite frequent). Straight down the coast via Marbella and La Línea).

Using RENFE (train) you have to change at Málaga, and at what is now a NIGHTMARE - Bobadilla, and although it is a very scenic journey, it is a horribly long way round . . .

Travel Tips for Fuengirola

PUERTO DE FUENGIROLA

by LoriPori

One of the more attractive features of Fuengirola is its port PUERTO DE FUENGIROLA. This is one of the most important suppliers of fresh fish to restaurants in the western area of the Costa Del Sol. The cuisine in Fuengirola is characteristic of the gastronomy of the coast of Malaga province. Some of the seafood delicacies available here include anchovies, red mullet, squid, etc.

Fuengirola Zoo.

by Regina1965

Fuengirola Zoo is a must while visiting Costa del Sol. It is a lovely Zoo, a bit small, but ever so nice (I love going to Zoos where ever I am in the world). They call it "another kind of Zoo". That is because the whole Zoo is a a recreation of a tropical forest and it is so accurate that you feel like you are in a jungle. They are involved in breeding programs of 35 European endangered species and take park in international programs to save the earth´s forest zones which are endangered. Like they say: "For the visitors Fuengirola is a jungle. For the animals, it is their home".

There are all kinds of animals here, tigers, gorillas, all kinds of monkeys, turtles and fish. And a lot of birds, where you enter into a jungle-like building and they roam free. Then there are guided tours into the lemur habitation, I recommend waiting for the guided tour it is so worth it being so close to the lemurs with their young ones.

In July and August you can visit at night and experience what a jungle must feel like at night and have a dinner there.

It is open all year round from 10 a.m.

The ticket cost 13 euros but I had a discount of 1,5 euros, as I used the small discount tickets you can find at hotels and at bus stations.

Centro Idea - The Danish center.

by Regina1965

A little outside of Fuengirola on the road to Mijas there is a Danish Center called Idea, where everything is Danish - the shop owners, the restaurant - everything. As I love Denmark then I went there many times. There is a furniture store, a health-food store, a Danish food-store, linguerie boutique, travel-agency, a restaurant/café, a dentist and a hairdresser, a bank and a trading agency and many more activities. In this area a lot of Danes reside.

It is open from 10-19 and Saturdays from 10-16.
