Transportation

by kathh2006

Hi

I am coming to Fuengirola in about 4 weeks and want to know what the buses and trains are like? Some friends of ours are staying in Puerto Benas amd we would like to visit them.

Does any one have any links to bus/train timetables?
Any idea how much it cost to travel by bus/train?
Do the buses/trains run 7 days a week?
Is it a reliable service?

The buses try to run by timetable.(The coast road can be very busy)They are very cheap but can get crowded with about 25 standing! The train stations run a wee bit further back from the coast. They both run on 7 days and the service is crazy/reliable. :-)

No trains to Puerto Banus, yet. End of the line is currently Fuengirola. Good bus service, though. Timetable below. Yes, a 7-day service for buses and trains.

Thanks for your help, looks like we will be taking the bus - much cheaper than hiring a car. I just wanted to make sure it was feasible before we got there.
Thanks again

Travel Tips for Fuengirola

Fuengirola has a fantastic Esplenada.

by Waalewiener

Promenade, Esplenade ,Walkway , just some of the names for the fantastic and beautiful walkways that are along the beaches of Fuengirola I believe that there is a stretch of 8 Km of walkway from one end of Fuengirola to the other end ,and I sure walked at least 8 Km the day I went there by myself. Spain is so great with their places to walk and sit on the benches ,they become a real meeting place for the people
Sunday is the traditional day when the Spanish people walk the Esplenadas.
It really is something you must see for yourself Walking and people watching , and more walking and eating some Tappas,or Churros etc then some more walking.

Andalusian Gazpacho

by zumodemango

My father always says that her mum's gazpacho was the best. Now i understand why. My grandmother was from Malaga so i understand because there i tried the best gazpachos. Eva's homemade was spectacular.
Normaly is green peppers, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt, vinager, bread (the bread with water), cucumber.

PAELLA AND MORE

by LoriPori about CASA LOZANO

We met up with Eva (Diageva) again after she was done with her work, as we were going out for dinner together. One of her favourites was CASA LOZANO , a cozy little restaurant not far from Plaza De La Constitucion. We let Eva order for us. Along with a salad, a fish dish -- Boquerones al Limon (6.60 Euros), she ordered Paella for 2 (17.40 Euros) which was plenty.
Dinner for the three of us came to 40 Euros and it was excellent.

Paseo Maritimo

by Carmela71

Not sure how many km of Promenade, as I had never walked the whole it lol

It is something I love from this Coast, all the cities we have nice long promenades to walk along, or practise any sport.

PLAZA DE LA CONSTITUCION

by mvtouring

The Square of PLAZA DE LA CONSTITUCION ,is a beautiful area ,where you can sit down and enjoy a lovely cup of cofffee whilst watching the people go by. Also do not forget to visit the little church on the square
