What's the best way to get to Malaga. How long does it take by car?
The local coaches take 1.5 hours. costing 15 EUR. By car you can do it in an hour!
If you drive, take the coast road east and then the A-44 north. The road is fast and an engineering wonder. There are places where you feel you're flying :-)
Hmm, I saw somewhere that the cost of a bus is rather near 8Euros...
we did Grananda-Malaga by bus and it was simple, comfortable, and looked popular among locals.
www.alsa.es is the place to find out schedules and fares. one way is 10 euro.

Come out into the sunshine and look around, the little fountain in the centre was used for washing, make sure you dont trip over the edge ! Look up, these walls are decorated too, and there are shuttered windows - did the ladies of the Palace, safe in the knowledge that they couldn`t be seen, look down on the men going about their business and talking about important matters ? Im sure they must have, after all we women like to know everything thats going on
around the bottom of the walls are glazed tiles in jewel colours, topped by a deep frieze, some of the carvings are traditional Islamic ones, but here and there you will see carved flowers and foilage so the rulers must have been very progressive as at one time carving of organic things was considered a sin
the tour group that followed us in have all gone now, its quiet and peaceful again, lets go on, through the passage, into the Courtyard of the Myrtles
Another drink custom, that's right siree! This is a bitter sweet wine that's found in almost all bars we went to..... (to the right of "tapa" plate) must be a Granada thing! it was quite good. We were told it would go to our head quick but didnt, so.... go for it! :o) (well, and even if it did)
When visiting Alhambra, admiring its arcitecture, exiting its history don't foget to walk around the palace and watch these beautiful trees and flowers... Stay for a minute... Watch...
And then you may go on with your excursion.

Q: Parking for city, not the Alhambra "I will soon be spending a couple of weeks south of Granada. In addition to a visit to the Alhambra, which I know has its own..."
A: "OK - but bear in mind I do not drive, but I am suggesting this could be less of a (fraught) journey to your idea. Find your way to the car parks at Paseo del Violon..."
