Lovely patio

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 21, 2013

We stayed in the hotel Abadia this winter and we keep a very good memory of it!
The different receptionnists were all speaking English, and always available to help us or advise us about what to see in Granada, where to eat, etc...
The bedroom was more than correct for the price we've paid, less than 40€ per night for 2 people.

Unique Quality: The building, and above all its patio, are lovely and typically andalusian!

Directions: C/ San Juan de Dios, turn left just after the hospital

beautiful hotel in the city centre

Hotel Abadia is just what you are looking for. It is in the city centre but quite far from the noise of the traffic; its patio is something marvellous. the staff is perfect: they all speak great english and other languages, and, what is more, they are always willing to help you. they have free wifi in the whole hotel and a perfect parking space just in front of the hotel.
I couldn't have asked for more.

Excellent price. Around 10 minutes walk for both the Albaicin and the bus for the Alhambra. The bus station in Grenada is out of the centre so expect a 30 minute walk to the Abadia..or get a bus or taxi...Don't be put off by the graffiti daubed alleyway off the main road to the hotel, its quite a safe area, There are no breakfast facilities in the hotel but each room has a fridge and kettle, so buy milk, coffee, croissants in supermarket and have your breakfast your room or in the private courtyard. The hotel is clean and of very Moorish character...great stay. Thank you very much to you and your staff..p.s. You can eat cheap in Granada, buy a drink in a tapas bar and they give a you a free dish of food,.,,for every drink!...5 glasses of wine and 5 free dishes will cost around 12 euros...cheap night out!

I don't know whether it is seasonal, or whether they have cancelled the service, but the 32 bus to the Alhambra doesn't now stop at the bus stop indicated on the hotel's map...you have to walk further down to the other end of Gran Via de Colon to catch a 30 or 31...about another 5 minute walk.

We loved it!

It´s a great hotel. We spent four days in it and it was fantastic. The staff is great and very helpful; they gave us the map of the city, they explained us what we should see en Granada, what to do, where to go, etc.
The location is perfect, 10 minutes walking to the cathedral and to the center; 2 minutes to the bus station (buses to the Alhambra palace) and 2 minutes to the Triumfo park.
The best thing in the hotel is the courtyard, a typical Andalusian courtyard with lots of flowers and a fountain in the middle, perfect for hot Spanish nights. I´d stay there again!

Unique Quality: A mini fridge and a kettle in every room and a great view to the courtyard.

Wonderful service and rooms in a wonderful city

Although we only spent one night at this little hotel, we were really impressed by the helpful, caring owner. We had some difficulty locating the hotel and the owner came to us out on a side street and helped us find parking for our car. Then he escorted us back to the hotel, carrying our bags, and spending about 10 minutes showing us a map of the area and suggesting various sights and restaurants nearby. The hotel lobby had several vases of fresh flowers and everything was spotlessly clean, new, and beautifully decorated

Incredible romantic hotel

My trip took place in December 2008. I decided to visit Granada to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my wife. I chose this city because, in my opinion, it is the most romantic city (tha Alhambra, Albayzin, mixture of cultures...) There is something which makes it an unique city. After searching in different places, we finally decided to stay at Hotel Abadia and it was the best decision I have taken in my life. We arrived to Granada by plane and the hotel is just 2 minutes by feet from the airport bus stop, exactly in the heart of Granada. Everything is near: restaurants, main street, cathedral, buses to go to the Alhambra (the monument is not exactly in the centre, there is to walk uphill).
When we arrived to the hotel we were very shocked cause of the beauty. It is a small and charming hotel with a cute courtyard in the middle. Staff was really friendly and was always available to help us. A map was given when we arrived and the receptionist recommended us some good restaurants to eat and many things to do in Granada and...everything we tried it was fantastic.
The room was spacious and very clean. Although, the hotel is in the center, there is no noise cause of the trafic and it is ideal to relax
The only problem was that we only stayed four days. We would have liked to stay at Abadia Hotel forever.
We highly recommend it and I am sure I will come back

Unique Quality: The room has hair-dryer, minibar, air-conditioning...
WIFI for free.
The central courtyard is ideal to relax, so quiet, so cute...
We left our laggage after check-out till we had our flight (in the evening).

Directions: From Triunfo Gardens, go to San Juan de Dios St. and the third street right.

Excellent Hotel

In my opinion this hotel is the best in Granada, as it is fairly average in price, the staff are very friendly and helpful with any information that you require about the city centre, the rooms are very clean and comfortable with private bathrooms. And it is also right in thecity centre and either walking distance or you can take a bus for only 1€ to the monumonts such as the Alhambra palace.

Unique Quality: The facilities include private bathroom with in the bedrooms, and a patio outside so you can chill out in comfort and catch some sun.

Directions: ONCE IN SAN JUAN DE DIOS, TURN LEFT SOON AFTER THE HOSPITAL AND YOU WILL SEE A YELLOW SIGN WITH THE NAME ON IT

This hotel was excellent. It is very bright and is decorated in a beautiful arabic stlye. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Each room has a fridge, kettle and television. It was perfectly situated in the city centre with easy access to all monuments especially the Alhambra. And although it is situated in the city centre the hotel is very quiet at night. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in giving information. I would definately recommend this hotel to all and I myself would definately stay here again.

Unique Quality: Its situated was Excellent.

Directions: On Gran vía, take the street to San Juan de Dios then its your third right.

It' a really nice hotel. We spent few days in it and it was nice. The hotel has a really good location and all the receptionists were always ready to help us. Furthermore, there is a lovely patio !!

It's a great hotel. We stayed there for one week and we were really satisfied with it, with the staff and with the room also. It's perfect for visiting Granada because everything is close, it's in the center so we didn't have to take taxis or buses (except to go to the Alhambra).
The hotel is small, but very comfortable and quiet. We had a room 204 with a view to a courtyard and it was really clean also.
I really think it's one of the best hotels in Spain we've stayed in!

We had already been in Granada once, but in a different hotel, and this time our choice was the best !
The hotel Abadia is full of charm, we had a beautiful room facing the courtyard and with andalusian design. Room and bathroom were absolutely clean.
The staff was great and helped us with everything and we were greatful for the parking space at only 14€ per night.
Thank you very much !
