Hotel Alhambra Palace

This impressive hotel was built in 1910 and is located right near the centre of the Alhambra. It was built like a Moorish palace by don Julio Quesada Duque. The crowning tiled dome is evident from the Alhambra complex. The hotel has 126 rooms all with ensuites, mini bar, safe, dataport, TV and aircon. The view from each window takes in either the plains of Vega or the wonderful Sierra Nevada range. A lot of the décor is typical Andalusian style. There is a restaurant with a terrace, a bar and a business centre.

the alhambra

the hotel alhambra palace is a historic hotel located next to alhambra palace complex. originally built in 1910 it was refurbished in 2005. the hotel has all of the amenities you would expect of a first class hotel. the hotel bar and dinning room has a terrace with beautiful views of granda and the sierra nevada mountains. they offer valet parking and it is only a five minute walk to the entrance to alhambra palaces. the staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions. the hotel alhambra is expensive but because of its excellent location and amenities i highly recommend it.

Alhambra Palace Hotel

I think aprox. $150/night for two?

Unique Quality: Absolutely stunning views of the city below and the surrounding mountains. There is a great balcony off the main lobby, bar and restaurant overlooking the city and mountains (same view from the rooms). The balcony is a great spot for any time of the day to sit and have a drink and watch the activities below.

Strangely modern building in ancient city

by sierralyndon about Alhambra Palace Hotel

In Granada, we stayed at the Alhambra Palace Hotel. Our first choice would have been the parador of Granada, but they were fully booked.

The Alhambra Palace Hotel is hard to miss as it is orange/brown in colour and a huge building. It doesn't have the charm of one of those heritage hotels, and appears to cater more for business meetings, etc. It is nonetheless a very nice hotel.

We had trouble trying to get the hotel manager to take us seriously in fulflilling our booking for a room with a double bed, not two single beds. It was after all, our honeymoon. After some haggling, finally on the third night, they got us in the right sort room... and gave us a free meal at the very posh restaurant for the inconvenience. There is a balcony where you can take a midnight snack/drink. It overlooks the city and is simply spectacular. One night while we were there, there was a fireworks display in the town. Can't remember what was being celebrated, it was early September.

Dream at the Alhambra

by TripAdvisor Member manolovs

In the way by car to Alhambra Palace Hotel, accesing from the city center, you can view a hoarding advertising: "Do you like to dream at the Alhambra?. Hotel Alhambra Palace"

The Alhambra Palace Hotel is a dream-became-true Hotel with very nice views of Granada and "la Vega". It's located only at a few steps from the main entrance of the Alhambra and the Nazari Palaces.

Our bedroom was mid-size and average clean. It was the 207 room at second floor, oriented to the city center, bathroom with a window to the outdoor and balcony. From there you can view an amazing view of the city and the Alhambra mount.

The people at reception desk was friendly and cooperative, but no more than the average. The hotel has a small parking outside. A parking lot attendant parks the car for you. It's for free, but your car must sleep in the streets.

The hotel salon is nice, very well decorated and large. It has two different spaces, one of them with a very large, continous window with amazing views.

Nobody told that dreaming at Alhambra was inexpensive, so expect a price according to that. Anyway, for us, it was a good value for our money.

beautiful hotel with with stunning views over Granada

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Alhambra Palace, was a excellent base for visiting Granada. Right on the doorstep of the famousAlhambra, and easy to walk into the quaint bars and restaurants of the old town. The hotel itslef was restrained elegance with really good service. Thre restaurant was good, but the views were the best of all, taking coffee in the late afternoon looking over the city...stunning!

Lovely hotel but you can find good quality for cheaper

by TripAdvisor Member missfine

Don't get me wrong, it was VERY nice and we had a huge terrace to ourselves. But for an extra $100 night we didn't get much more than we already had at the Plaza Neuva - which was a more convienient location. They turn the bed down for you at night at the Alhambra Palace and you get a free hot breakfast, but other than that, it's an average above average hotel that caters to wealthy Americans.

gardens of alhambra palace

by CarolineFrancis

What is the best time of year to see the gardens of the Alhambra Palace looking at their best? (we are hoping to visit in the Spring - which month would be best - March, April or May?)

Re: gardens of alhambra palace

by MaheshSamtani

Spring is the best time to go to Granada so any of the months mentioned by you are good as the weather is mild and good and the gardens will be blooming and beautiful. Normally there are less people at this time of the year even though it happens to rain sometimes during these months, but very light rain, so nothing to worry about.
Best regards from Valencia

Anytime! We were there last August (Granada is a little more quiet as the students aren't there and alot of locals go to the coast for the summer).

We went in at 9 am, so it was warm, but not too hot. There is quite a bit of shade. However, springtime has to be perfect.
