Sixteenth-Century Building
This hotel is located in a 16th –century mansion located in the Albaicin district. It has lots of courtyards and bags of character.
It is a little disconcerting when you realise that what you thought was a lounge is actually open to the sky. The historical nature of the building meant that our room was rather dark (dark wood ceiling and shuttered windows) and there wasn't much storage space, but the walls were a homely yellow. Facilities included a mini-bar, TV (Spanish stations only) and private facilities (shower only, not bath - fitted slightly awkwardly into the space of the room).
The hotel can only be entered by pressing a bell outside and waiting for someone to open the door - fortunately they don't take long.
Breakfast is buffet style with bread and pastries, cold meats and fruit (the quality of the fruit was definitely better than your average breakfast buffet).
Unique Quality: This is a great place to stay if you like historic atmosphere, or modern art (there was a range of metal sculptures displayed for sale in the lounge area). But if you need lots of space, probably best to go for somewhere more modern.

Good location and comfortable
We found this place when the hotel we tried to get was full and they referred us here. Very comfortable, a short walk from the Alhambra and the city, and very Andalucian. It is down a narrow alley so it is a quiet place. It's fairly new, which may explain why not many guidebooks list it yet. The only drawback is that the rooms are a bit small.

Accomodation In Granada
Hello again my fellow wonderful Vter's:
I am trying to sort through tons of hotels recommended in VT pages.
Me and my wife will be arriving at Granada airport around 8PM on Sep 9th.
I am trying to find a mid range hotel, preferably in Albayzin and most preferably on or close to the airport bus stop.
Can someone please suggest some hotels that you know of or you have stayed at.
I have been reading through the reviews and many travellers complain about the difficulty in finding the hotel.
Since we would be arriving there after a very long journey (originating from USA) and at night time, I dont want to deal with an irate wife trying to locate a hotel :).

I stayed in the Casa Del Capitel Nazari which is in the Albaicin. It is in a historic building with a lot of character, although the downside is that the rooms can be a bit small and dark.
The location isn't actually not very hard to find as it's just off the main road up from Pl Nueva, but the sign is quite discreet and you have to ring for admittance.

I stayed at the El Ladron de Aqua and liked it very much. It is right below the West Wall of the Fortress. I don't know if it was in Albayzin or not, however, it was only a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and the main road to the train station. If you are coming in from the US after a long journey, do you and your wife a favor and pay for a taxi. Just figure it as part of the cost of getting to your first point. After spending a couple grand getting there, to get cheapo for the last leg and risk getting the better half on your case is not worth it. You don't mention your budget.
I stayed at a convenient budget hostal in the center of the city on the Gran Via.
Arrived at the bust station, not the airport, so I can't tell you about that.
